Anyone playing EOD?
Hi,
I downloaded the EOD mod and was wondering if any of you guys have any opinions on the game. I find the kills much to easy but it shows some promise. what do you think?

Yeah, the 5th has played a few nights... alot of maps are to linear, HUGE snipefests.. there are a few GREAT maps.
although I do think it could be a better mod with some work.
Maybe we can get together and play some rounds some time.[TG-19th]theeANGELofDEATH(Steam/Origin)

Re: Anyone playing EOD?
Just downloaded it last night. I got to play a couple games and it was decent. The couple maps I played looked cool, but they need to fix up some bugs (sound localization, etc.). I'll be looking for other TGers on the servers that host it to try to get a better feel for it over the next few weeks.

Well it's pretty sweet mod, but the interface contains a bit to much green for my eyes to take. Gameplay and map layouts are ok nothing like PR but yes it shows a lot of promise. I find it better than DCON though, which is saying a lot since that mod was hyped up big time.

Re: Anyone playing EOD?
Its certainly better than DC, but EOD just doesnt cut it. Its a gigantic sniper fest (though a dev said they will limit that kit soon), the maps are silly push maps with meat grinders all over the place, and its simply just not polished like POE.
May have potential when they limit sniper kits and if they can get a map maker that knows what hes doing.

Kit limiting on is always a good thing. Would make most mods out there sweet.

Re: Anyone playing EOD?
Some of the maps are bad, but some are excellent. Both DC and EOD mapmakers generally understood that having flags within walking distance of each other is good, and having them too spaced out is bad. Unfortunately the BF2 mapmakers failed to understand this, except for the not coincidentally popular maps (Karkand, Mashtuur, Sharqi).
But just like BF2 and POE2, you can't really tell how the maps are going to play until you actually have it full of TG squads, because teamwork changes the dynamic so much.

Re: Anyone playing EOD?
IMHO, kit limiting is the worst possible way to "balance" something that's overpowered. It would be like saying "yes, the people in jets wtfpwn everyone with no problem, but only a couple people on each team get to do it".
There's too much haves&havenots, queuing up for resources, and people arguing about who's the most qualified to use the overpowered item.

Re: Anyone playing EOD?
I´ve downloaded it and so, but when I attempted to extract the files, EoD only showed up as a "picture-document". When trying to transfer it to a compressed file and extract it that way, the entire process freezed...Strange.
So no, I have yet to try it out, even though I am trying to try it out.
