    Confession of an idiot

Ok... so I've been a 2142 player for months. I've enjoyed it so much (here at TG), that I decided to buy BF2. I jumped on the POE server for the first time ever last night, but I could not talk to my squad. I checked the VOIP settings, rang the microphone test, rebooted; nothing helped. I just could not talk to the squad.

Then out of nowhere, the "anvil of enlightenment" hit me square on the forehead. I had been using the BF2142 "V" key to talk. BF2 uses the "B" key. One quick press of the "B" key and I was in like Flynn.

I am so ashamed.... I forgot the simplest solution... I didn't look at the manual.

Anyway, had fun and will be back.

Remember "V" lets you talk to your CO when you're squad leading - if you haven't already remapped the keys.
I had the same "problem" when switching from BF2 to BF2142 and ended up remapping the keys to match the BF2 logic (B = squad talk, V = CO talk). I find myself mapping VOIP keys in every game to B now because thats what my brain expects me to hold while talking
