True, Jimmy's interpretation was off the cuff, but sums up the thrust of the motto well.
"Adeo" has multiple meanings that are largely contextual, that is, the meaning changes depending on how it is used. In this context, it is understood as "so far as", "so much so" or "to such an extent".

So the motto is more literally: "I cannot, I work to such an extent" which is perfectly grammatical latin, just archaic in its diction. InKing's English, it would more properly be "I work: so much so, that I cannot". In American English, "I can't, I've got too much to do". Personally, I find it is as relevant a motto as ever!

Seriously though, A new motto is the type of thing that a platoon could vote together on--having your own mottos for your platoons would be kind of cool!
