Guess who's back!

If you guessed Tow, you'd be wrong. MINUS FIVE POINTS!

Spring training for football is done and we had a really good game yesterday (which we lost by 3 points), so everyone's favorite mystical floating demi-god is back.

Btw, if you're wondering, I play starting tackle on O-line, and starting kickoff and kickoff return, and probably will start playing starting Will linebacker.

...Not to brag or nothin'...

If there's one thing I miss about high school, it's playing football. Don't take it for granted while you're there!

Ehhh, football is fun, but i'm still getting used to this weird thing people call "excercise".
It's a strange, almost mystical thing to my body.

Re: Guess who's back!

See, you guys missed out. All you guys play the big name sports with the dudes. Soccer, football, baseball. Those are fun and all, but track and cross country is where its at. Now, you may think of them as "wimpy" sports because all you do is run, but thats not the issue. Ever try running behind an entire team of hot girls who are wearing spandex shorts and sports bras? Yeah, it rocked. 4 years of doing that and hanging out with said girls for untold hours under the bleachers at track meets (too hot to be on the bleachers in the sun for 6 or so hours in florida). Made it really easy to get a date.

So did I play for the sport or the degree of difficulty? No. I played for the women in revealing and very tight fitting clothing. Sure, we didnt get the fanfare the football players did, but seeing as they had 20 or so cheerleaders to choose from (with a football roster of 80+) and we had 60+ track/cross country girls to choose from (we had 18 guys on the team), it worked out in our favor a lot better.

We don't do spring football...we get that extra week of 2-a-days going on starting as soon as August starts pretty much. It's pretty crazy.

Re: Guess who's back!

but thats not all I did either since canadian wants to brag.
Captain, track/cross country for 3 years, varsity team all 4.
Captain, soccer team for 2 years, varsity team all 4.
Captain, football team 1 year, varsity for the three that I played.
Track: 3200m (2 mile) - District Champion 4x, Regional champion 2x, Top 8 at States; 1600m (1 mile) - District Champion 2x
4x800m (half mile relay) - District champion 3x, regional champion 1x
CC: District Champion (individual) 2x (team) 4x, regional champion (team) 3x, state runner up (team) 1x
Soccer: District champs 2x, Regional Champs 1x

And I'm not even gonna list my academic stuff. I was a nerd. Still am.
For the record: I was 5'4" 116lbs when I graduated. Guess what position I played on the football team.

No State Meets for me though
There's still my Senior year coming up...but the only reason I do track is because it's "strongly suggested" by the coaches if you want to start during football season. I won't have to do it this year though since it's my last year of high school ball.

Re: Guess who's back!

oh, i just listed the major ones...you know, the ones where I actually WON. if you want all my second/third/etc place finishes, I can go there too

Also, what division do you play in canadian? We were 6A, which is as big as it gets in florida. 1A is generally tiny little private schools with like 50 people or so. 6A is generally schools with 1500+ students. We had 646 people in my graduating class, total of 2600 in the school.

Re: Guess who's back!

1A. Were the smallest...other than 6-man.

Our 1A isn't quite that small. Thats 6-man football here. We have about 40 in our class, and nearly 200 in the high school.

But don't judge by that. 3 out of the 10 guys I was on the All State List...for linemen alone with are going to play for D-I colleges for OL next year. I don't remember how many of them are Seniors though...not more than 6 or 7.

I can send you our highlight video if you want....It's uploaded onto my computer.

Re: Guess who's back!

oh, i wont judge the football stats by the division, especially in texas. I know how football is in texas. but the track stats, perhaps. but sure, if you'd like to show me the highlight reel, i'd love to see it. good football videos are always fun.

Re: Guess who's back!

Football is my pride and joy. Track is just on the side due to coaches wanting us to stay in shape. I just happen to be quick.

Here's a few pictures from football...but I'll have to figure out how to get you that highlight video.

Blocking some guy

Kick Return

District Champs over the Longhorns (hence my hand signal)

3rd and Short...I go to the backfield

Vs. The Big Guys...and a corner blitz...

Before

After

PreGame Warmups

Homecoming. Before Kickoff
