Re: Working on TG-Irregulars Platoon

Great work on the ensignia guys(i think WhiskeySix and Perry mostly??), i love it , as you can see i have already adopted my favourite until it is finalised. My vote at the moment goes for Guard but i am not sure what should go with it, my favourite suggestion so far is Battle Guard but i am sure others will be suggested, and i love the pirate theme, works very well for the ensignia and if possible i think we should work it into the name. Got to agree with you again WhiskeySix and Jimmy, the nickname "The Irregulars" still shouldn't be forgotten.

Re: Working on TG-Irregulars Platoon

If those are the two we can chose from, I think I would go for Guard (although: what are we guarding?).

I think Militia has a bit of a nasty taste to it, reminds me a bit of those groups that make the middle of Africa a bad place to stay in.

But then again those are just my opinions.

So sign me up for Guardduty.

Re: Working on TG-Irregulars Platoon

Hey im not trying to corale anybody into a corner. If you prefer any of the other suggestions by all means slap it up, you might not be the only one that likes it after all. It just seemed that those were the big two that had so far emerged. Any equivalent term in the Dutch forces?

EDIT: Also i havent heard back from sgtDFuller but im sure there will be something you will be appropiated into doing soon enough. Also if you see something we havent thought of, or need to discuss please do it. This is a community effort not a top down autocracy. In fact it seems that now a few things are getting done it is all starting to snowball in a delicious way.

Re: Working on TG-Irregulars Platoon

Actually ill start a new thread with a poll in it to try and keep it a little more organised. Took me a while to work out how to do it.

Jimmy,

Sorry if my post seems like pushing my thoughts through, did not mean to.
As you asked for a opinion I just gave forth mine. I'm cool with anything the majority agrees on. Those where just my own feelings on the name. Perhaps militia has just a different ring to it for me. And btw the remark about the guard was just a joke.

So no dissing intended, and I'll appologise to you I it looked that way.

Re: Working on TG-Irregulars Platoon

Dont worry Pommetje, we need people pushing these ideas up. Im just mindful of the fact i have very little experience of doing anything like this and am still relatively new to the community so dont want to seem to be too pushy. Thats why its great to get these discussions going and to get top stuff from people like WhiskeySix. It seems to really be growing into a community effort which is exactly what this group should be about IMHO.

Roger (jolly?) that.

I think that if people would find your involvement and work is this new platoon 'pushy' they would have said so by now.

As I said earlier: too all involved.

And I really begin to like the Irregulars, sounds a bit like the underdog position.

I def. LOVE the whole Gambling/Pirate/Skull theme!

I have always thought those went perfect with the military.

Besides what better than a badd ass Gambling fool with an AK?

I think the whole aesthetic is shaping up quite well, well done to those who've worked on avatars and such.

These are a few ideas that I had percu develop for some reaction. Just a quick thing to kinda get an idea. The 29th ID was my inspiration, the use of the yin yang to symbolize the differences between us, but yet unified enough to make a whole. Without the other the other cannot exist. Let me know your ideas.

Thanks percu for the images.
