Teamspeak usage

hey guys!

Just wanted to drop a note about using TS while we play. As we talked about in another thread, it's highly encouraged you hop on TS while you're playing... It's not much used during the game, but is used between rounds quite a bit.

Anyway - I just wanted to suggest that people remain in the primary "Battlefield 2 Retail" channel, unless you need some privacy. In otherwords, don't treat the "TG-Irr" subchannel as the default channel... hang out with the rest of us in the main BF2 channel!!

Re: Teamspeak usage

I need to redo my TS as my button for TS and Squad talk is the same. So anything I say in my squad is broadcast throughout the entire channel so trying to coordinate attacks and beall sneaky like isn't very sneaky.

Re: Teamspeak usage

I don't know what button to use for TS. I could use something like "[" but it seems kind of silly. What does everyone else use?

Re: Teamspeak usage

Does that get done through TS or through BF2 itself?

Re: Teamspeak usage

I use middle mouse when I browse Firefox, so people keep hearing bursts of "nothing" from me. I might actually rebind the BF2 voice transmit to MMB though, then use B for Teamspeak.

Re: Teamspeak usage

I would be on but my bf2 comms turn to static when I'm on teamspeak....tried various methods that supposedly fix the problem but none worked. So I said screw it. I'll be there for any teamspeak meetings but I can't do both at once. :/

Re: Teamspeak usage

i have all my controls for bf2 tweaked:

crouche = c
TS talk = Ctrl
squad talk = Alt
mid mouse = switch to rifle, change fire modes (default is "3")
lie down = z
map = e
enter/exit = f

just some suggestions that work for me

Re: Teamspeak usage

I use plus on the number pad, its close to the mouse and a big target to hit.

Me too. TS is Ctrl, I use a thumb button on the side of my mouse for VOIP and another for the commo rose.

My middle mouse button is pistol. My survivability rate went up when I stopped randomly bashing the # keys for something to replace my empty rifle. In the rest of my windows environment this is bound to Alt-F4, so on occasion my mouse drivers don't load right and I close out of the game instead of whip out my pistol. Doh!

Re: Teamspeak usage

Still trying to sort out my TS issues...

But am confident I will have this all working this week.

Thanks for the heads up about which channel to start in - I must admit that jumped straight into the TG-Irr channel when I first tried TS out.

I am dropping the TS Overlay ~ as this seemed o be a major culprit in causing problems on my system (pity).

Re: Teamspeak usage

I got mine as the middle mouse button as well but may remap this soon as I like to have the middle mouse button for certain weapons/items like pistol or medkits.

Re: Teamspeak usage

y? wow, that's a stretch

I use V and B as default... middle mouse for TS....

and the other handy thing is that I moved get in vehicle to "F"... so that I can use "E" as the 'other' commorose - Q spots targets, requests ammo, etc, and E does the CO related stuff - requests supplies, artillerty, sets waypoints, etc...
