A passive passenger maybe... but I'm also able to shoot out the side of a moving APC. I can hit rocks, dirt and water -- even if they're not standing still.

Fortunately for the wiki, I am slightly better as a helo gunner.

Thats fine mate, but it doesnt really matter where you are. The roster as it is at the moment is there to keep track of who is an irregular, and to provide reference to playtimes/kits etc. Not being in the speciality squad didnt mean you couldnt play air units. That squad was created as an administrative unit in the early days when membership was low to see whether we had enough players to flesh out a more specialised role. Now that membership is so big it is mainly a moot point as there is a lot of diversity within the group.

Re: REQUEST: Roster Update

Updated.

BTW, only a small point but do we really need to have 'GMT' and 'EUR' as different timezones. In reality there's only going to be 1 hour difference between 99% of the players in Europe.

Re: REQUEST: Roster Update

well, 1 hour is the difference between being on time and being quite late

Personally I think everyone should post their actual timezone, and be forced to remember how this relates to UTC (which is the same as GMT, also known as Zulu).

Anyhow, the upcoming time sig thing will fix all this.

Time sig? Could you please clarify. This sounds interesting.

Re: REQUEST: Roster Update

There is some work being done on an availability chart. I'm also working on a version of it that will be active and individually customisable.

More details here

Heh. I've been working on a wiki version this week. Should have something to test this weekend.

We should coordinate -- how far are you along? I'm close enough that I want to finish at least the test. Maybe then we can compare and see which format works bests/is easiest to update. It was fun to do so even if my version doesn't stick it was still worth the effort.

I haven't got that far yet. Just been knocking up a few layouts so far as I was planning on doing it in flash, but now I've decided to go with php or python.

I'd be more than happy to lend a hand with your wiki thing, no point in duplicating effort. PM me with any details or you can email me if you'd prefer.

Lol, good idea. I hate actionscript, it's a pain in the butt.
