Re: Revision of Avatar policy

Aw, I liked 'em.

But, no huge loss - the reasons are well understood and I agree. We are not an actual in-house squad, simply a bunch of misfits you might be able to mop the floor with the best of 'em

I wasn't complaining about it. It looks fine, I was just wondering if it was there for specific reason.

Re: Revision of Avatar policy

Is anyone working on a new sig to easily identify Irregs from unaffiliated members and new recruits?

Are we going for a particular theme? If we were to have general idea of what we want it would be a lot easier to try to make.

On a side note, I was bored and started messing around in Fireworks. This is what I ended up making:

It's ketchup. No, really, it is.

Re: Revision of Avatar policy

Millipede, that's pretty damn cool, now if you can put it into sihnature format that'd be cool.

I like it, how 'bout the rest of the Irregs?

Ya, I could do that. What should it say on it? I assume you don't want my random slogan on there. Do we want the 'official' slogan, you know that Latin thing or something else. Or I could do a few with different slogans.

Re: Revision of Avatar policy

Honestly I haven't givin it much thought. Perhaps putting our names on their and possibly who are officers, I kind of like the "What a Mess" slogan as we are meant to be unhinged.

Ok, I'll see what I can do. I'll have to do it later though. I've got to get on Teamspeak for the roll-call in 15 mintues and then I'll have to do homework once the practice is over.

Edit: I was just thinking, if we are scraping the previous avatar then why in the world are we making new ones? Wasn't the whole point to get people to quit joining just so they get a spiffy lookin' avatar?

Re: Revision of Avatar policy

I think the whole point of changing the Avatar so people don't join just to get a cool Avatar is moot. With the fact that the Irregulars are open to all who uphold the ideals of TG who's to say that someone joined for the cool Avatar? It's doesn't really matter if the person believes in the TG methodology and upholds those ideals. Having a cool Avatar would be a nice bonus.

My point is this, you can't stop someone from joining the Irregulars even if they only did it for a cool Avatar. Maybe just making it generic by not adding a player name would be sufficient? Having an Avatar is not a requirement but, it is a good way to identify someone with an affiliation.

I say keep the spade with skull and crossed blades but remove the player name. I don't think I will change my Avatar but I will use it in my Sig!
