What do I do to put |TG-Irr| in my name?

I tried first putting it as a prefix to my name, just to have it on there real quick, as I just got added to the irregs. But the "|" symbol wouldn't show up, that is pushing shift and the button above enter. also, "-" would not. I also tried making a new name, but that also would not work

Sitting here typing this, i just realized that you are probably using a lower case "L" aren't you?? so, just make a new account, use a lower case L, and does "-" work that way?

Also, u put a space after the prefix, right?

I think most people just created a new nick to play on TG rather than just adding a prefix.

Look at the part where it says "Wearing the Irr Tag" and then click the link it gives you. It will explain how to add the tags.

Ok, thanks, ive already read that tho. Are you typing shift + the button above enter? bcuz it seemed like it said that it was an invalid charater. maybe it was the space..

If you are doing it through BF2 itself you have to create a new account. You can't use spaces so what you have to do then is this:

|TG-Irr|_SuperDudeBT

Although bear in mind that long and rambling discussion and polling decided on the lack of a space between |TG-Irr| and the name....

oooook, thanks for clearing all of that up. I agree that a "_" is pretty ugly. I figured that the unallowed character was either the | or -, and not a space. I'll get my new account up next time I play.

Its definitely the space as chicken said. Lot of people had that disallowed character problem.

Sorry, thought I was done with this. If I just want to change the one that I already have, I just go to gamespy.com, and change my nickname, right? This way, on a pubby raid, I don't have to log out and back in to get my unlocks.

I already tried doing it, but the site is so buggy that when I confirm my password, it says that original password must be entered, and it is.

It only takes a few seconds to change login if you want to switch from TG to public ranked servers. After lots of discussion we decided that new accounts would be created for the Irregulars to play on TG as it was the only way to wear the proper tag with your current name and unlocks would never be needed here.
