Question When should you become MIA??

Hey guys,

Your opinions please:

I've being working to update the roster and bring it back up to date. There are lot's of people on the active duty list that have been silent (no posts, no activity) for a long time, and people on the MIA list for just as long.

I'm about to start moving people off Active Duty to MIA, and MIA off the roster altogether.

What do you guys think is a reasonable period of time before you become MIA, and before you get bumped from the roster.

Moved to MIA from Active after 1 month, 2 months, 3 months??

Moved to off the roster from MIA after 1 month, 2 months, 3 months??
Cheers.

Re: When should you become MIA??

After 2 months, you can try to contact that player. If you get no response, move him to MIA where he will reside for a SHORTER amount of time. Perhaps a second PM or communication stating that he has 3 weeks to respond before being bumped off the roster. None of this is cut in stone. It's not as if he comes back a week later you'll refuse to take him back.

Much thanks for the input Shafik...was this timing in use when the Irregs were under different management? (i.e. when many of the 12th were Irregs)?

Cheers.

Missing in action? Dang, could have sworn it said Murdered in action :P

I think one month is a good time to check up on those who havent checked in for that month, if they are unreachable then, put them on the MIA list, 2 weeks after that try again or its off the roster.

Re: When should you become MIA??

I'm more inclined to go with 1 month of complete inactivity for the player to be moved to MIA...then another 2 to 3 weeks to be dropped..

I know that in about 3 weeks my activity will drop quite a bit due to the boys high school soccer season beginning here in Illlinois...I'll still be around, just not as much.

BTW..thanks Goat for taking this on...

Not that I know of. I'm not even sure we had a protocol for this sort of thing back then. We were fewer then, and all active.

Re: When should you become MIA??

JMO, but I'd say 1 month is a convenient period to refresh the roster... at the end of each month, if someone hasn't been seen or heard from at all, move them to the MIA list with an accompanying "everything ok?" PM... And at the same interval, purge the old MIA list... (so after 2 months of crickets, you're off the roster)

And, like Shafik said, it's not like there are any real reprocussions to it - the roster's main purpose (IMHO) is to help the irregulars know who their brothers are... in practical terms, who to watchout for and squad-up with on the servers!!

Don't bump me down, I have suddenly re-appeared!

Reinstalled BF2 yesterday, took frickin' forever. Then it kept disconnecting me from servers...

Re: When should you become MIA??

Well my sig identifies me as an irreg, I have the |TG-Irr| tag in-game, and the roster is fine, so I'm good.
