I posted this in a different forum before I found this one:

So basically I first "discovered" TG back in the pre-2142 days when there was BF2 and PoE (in all its majesty), and I was in awe that here was a server where players used actual tactics instead of the usual "free-for-all get-as-many-points-as-possible" playstyle. Soon all I could play was TG servers in PoE and even now in 2142 I can't bear playing on any other server. My friend told me how he found this great community and how with just a simple forum post he had become an Irreg. My point is, I thought that if I was going to play nothing but TG then I might as well ask to become an Irreg. I'm still not completely sure how everything in TG works but this seems like the first step to...something.

and if I am "accepted," then how do you fit "lTg-Irrl" into the tag space?

I've been waiting on an "official" response in the Joining Irregulars thread, but I'm on the TG server 2142 pretty much everyday around 12 (Pacific).

(I've played with a bunch of you the last few weeks... superfastkill, stop killing me, please.)

Yup, Basic is right. To be specific, what you'll do is go into 2142, and fill in the clan field. Just type |TG-Irr| and viola. Now, the | marks are NOT going to show at this point, so when you hit them do it carefully so you don't accidentally put in too many or put them in the wrong place or anything. The only strange side-effect I've noticed of doing this is the |TG-Irr| tag will show improperly as TG-Irr at the upper left where it shows your name + clan tag once logged into BFHQ, and when you are in vehicles it will show you as R-Irr Namehere, which is kinda weird. Other than that, it will display |TG-Irr| properly in all other in-game engine scenarios.
