The O-Corps has decided to start a new era of Irregularity on Thursdays and Sunday nights.
IRREGULARS SQUAD NIGHTS ARE HERE! THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO SQUAD UP WITH YOUR FELLOW IRREGS at a KNOWN PLACE AND TIME! Starting this Sunday (3/18/07) we will be shooting for an all-Irr squad in PRM PW night, but Irr Squad Nights apply for whatever game or mods we're running. During these two 24-hour periods, there will be a policy for Irreg Squad nights ONLY that any Irregular member may lock their squad and invite Irregulars. This also allows kicking for other Irregs if you have non-Irregs. Please do not kick fellow Irr or TG members for different Irr or TG members! More than likely we will have non-IRRs in-squad; that's fine. Again, please don't kick for anyone but Irrs, and do not kick Irrs. People count on always being able to get into IRR squads, so don't give any nasty surprises to anyone. Explain they are welcome to join an Irr squad on any other day, but this is our special night. This is a great opportunity for recruitment, so tell them to join us next week as an Irreg! ![]() Please be in Teamspeak for Squad Nights if possible, so we can all find each other in-game. This is our time to shine as team-members and be recognized as a squad to be reckoned with! As proud as we are of our introductory function of breaking in the greenhorns (that's wild west talk for newbs), we can be a cohesive and effective squad in our own right as well. Teamspeak is a necessary part of organization, so if you haven't DL'ed it yet, DO SO! It's not complicated, and is a great tool. Before you log in to the server, scan the team lists and spot fellow Irregs, and what side they're on. Get in game and make it a priority to migrate to the squads until we are playing together. That's it! Have fun and see you on IRRSN! See you there!

Hello Irregs,
Please note that it has been a long standing rule in the Irregulars to leave our squads unlocked, and to avoid kicking non-Irregs from our squads. This rule exists to help us fulfill one of the primary missions of the Irregulars, which is to help players new to Tactical Gamer acclimate to the TG Way. This remains a primary mission of our squad, however we are also here so that we can game together with familiar "faces". To that end, the Irregs Officer Corp is introducing an exception to the "no lock, no kick" rule: It falls to the SL to employ appropriate tact and judgment when asking a non-Irreg to leave the squad. If the round is almost over, then perhaps let it play out before you re-jig the squad. Regardless, do not forget that the Irregs play a role when it comes to people new to TG, so be courteous and explain why you are asking someone to leave. Cheers, |

Re: Locking Irregs Squads - MUST READ
A couple more thoughts and pointers...
There are a couple threads with tips on just how to find your fellow Irregs: http://www.tacticalgamer.com/battlef...ow-irregs.html http://www.tacticalgamer.com/battlef...r-players.html Also, when you are requesting to join an Irregs squad the single best way to do this is through TeamSpeak. Ask the SL if you can get an invite, and understand that if the squad is full it may take a little time. Squad Leaders need to acknowledge the request, and let the Irreg looking to get in know what the situation is: i.e. "No probelm, sending invite", "Will do, give it a minute or so 'cause were in a big fight at the moment...", "The round is almost over and we've got some new guys clicking...can you hang in a few minutes?", etc. The key thing is communication! Cheers, |

Download Teamspeak and install it. The server info can be found in my signature. We use it to coordinate joining squads.

Re: Locking Irregs Squads - MUST READ
Create a locked squad called "INVITE?". Then invite the SL of the Irreg's squad - this will pop up a message on his screen alone. At that point he can unlock/make-room/invite you into the irreg's squad...
(that's how we do it anyway) edit: To send an invite, hit <capslock> to bring up the squad screen and then hit the "Manage" button at the bottom. Select who you'd like to invite and hit "Apply". (That list of names and check-boxes also has your squad-mates at the top - checking one of your squad's names kicks them from the squad)
