The Irregs can always count on former Irregs for help or advice. If there is anything the 12th can do don't be shy to ask Irregs. Good luck

I think the irregs have helped TG grow by leeps and bounds..always there to help fellow new TG members or anyone for that matter. If there is anything we as TG can do to help let us know....

Re: What Is With Us Losing Good Irregs?
The Irregulars provide a very valuable service to the TG community. Excellent organization by the various leaders who have come thru have helped many new players enhance their skillset and prepare them for joining an in-house squad. The fact that so many current members are graduates from the Irrs speaks for itself.

Re: What Is With Us Losing Good Irregs?
Words well put. As soon as I get the cash to become a SM I would like nothing more than to join the 3rd or another squad.

We are what the Irregulars have always been.
<SNIP>
You just need to be aware of the history of the Irregulars, and the current events won't seem to be quite so extreme. Granted, two old-timers (ie >1 year) have left, but that's just a part of the Great Circle of Life, Simba. Whaahaha! Don't ye wish, ye scurvy little mud-duck! Nay, I be Keepin' It Irregular, lad. I haven't worked so long, endured so much, to be lured away by smaller glories. I plan to stay until the tendrils of my influence touches every Irregular, and my control of the weak and divided Senate is absolute. Then I shall cast aside the cloak of servitude and all power shall be within my grasp, like a ripe kumquat! Then, you shall all bow, and call me...EMPEROR. Hargh! Ye're but a young pup, and a whelp. Ye got nothin' on steadfastness over a lot of the men who started the Irregulars, or have served as Officers since. But I like yer spirit. So intead of sending you to scrub the deck again, let me share a few post from the old days... I am looking for any suggestions and anyone interested in being a part of the TG-Irregulars Platoon. The process is on its way and can use any and all help to include suggestions. I have a couple of volunteers so far, thank you Trooper[SNPR], ABRA, JimmyTwoHand, Wulfyn, Apophis, WhiskeySix, and if I missed a name, I am sorry but thanks for the help. Nothing is 100% as of yet, just testing the waters for now.....ultimately, the ADMINS have the authority to give the go ahead. If i have overstepped any boundaries or stepped on anyones toes, then let me know and I would happily apologize, and I just have to say SORRY in advance to cover my A@%. SgtFuller, first post, Irregulars Founding Member, 12/17/05 Heres a bit about me... I have no commanding experience or desire. I enjoy and excel at squad leading or participating in small speciality squads(max 3). This refers in particular to sniper squads or assets squads but could also be used for protecting assets or fast cap strategies on undefended bases. I have no problems suiting up in a regular squad though ...my heart just lies in the smaller ones. As should be obvious by anyone who plays on TG my best kit is by far the sniper rifle. Not only because of a good shot(easy part) but because of sound strategies, situational awareness and recon work. If teamed up with likeminded snipers who will work and communicate with me the results can be scary. Other kits I enjoy playing are Medic, AT and Engineer. In the past I have always been a great medic due to situational awareness skills that help me stay alive [AKA 'hiding in the bushes'. Modest wasn't he? He's even worse now--Axis ] and I also know my main job is healing not front line fighting. I'm crap at support and OK as assault and Spec Ops. Decent at chopper flying but poor at the gunner position. Would crash a jet on takeoff. FBMantis, early Irregular Recruit, now a BF 2142 Admin, 12/19/05On the "officers" front it would be good if we could get a few volunteers to take on some administrative duties. Someone to coordinate the Tactical Conflict ladder and also the scrim league. This would not be a huge amount of work. Just signing people up and then posting times and dates to gather together enough of our flock to compete. If some of the more established TGers could step up that would be much appreciated. It is hoped we can get enough overlap that this is always covered and will not turn into a major burden on anyone. Likewise on the training front. If anyone has a kit specialisation or feels they could give some training on any aspect of BF2 and TG play, please post. -JimmyTwoHand, Irregulars Founding Member, 12/20/05 I think I might kinda be leaning towards "Battle Guard" or "Battlefield Guard"... <shrug> heh... what's funny is that "The Irregulars" is really starting to grow on me as the squad's nickname ... I dunno - maybe it's the pirate thing... or ... kinda like The Dirty Dozen or the A-Team.... They're all a crazy mix of characters, that somehow kick ass as together... ... btw, here's a larger version of that second file.... -WhiskeySix, Founding Member of the Irregulars, 12/21/05 I am just throwing ideas out there to keep everyones mind open. Nothing is written in stone, and who knows, maybe 20 posts from now we may be going in a totally opposite direction. Just throwing ideas out there. What is the meaning behind the ace/skull design, does it stand for something? Should the "Irregulars" have a meaning behind it, or are we just going to start something without putting any thought into the true meaning behind it. I dont want to start something just to start something, I would like for it to have a basis and a meaning, not just as a novelty. Has anyone asked the other Team Captains on their meaning behind their crest? As far as I know, that behind every military crest or any crest, there is always some sort of meaning behind it. What will ours be? What should it have to bring more meaning to this Platoon? We are not your regular squad, we are a compilation of all races, religions and nationalities, which is something pretty significant I think. So if we are to change the name or make some sort of crest, I think we should try to make a crest and give us a name that includes all and represents all for what we are.....we are "part timers" after all, and when we are playing on the batlefield, or scrimming or in competition, we should be proud of who we are, we should feel unique, because we are unique. So once again I pose the questions i wrote before. Who are we? SgtFuller, 12/22/05 Can i just say how impressed i am that this has come together so rapidly with so many people pitching in where they see a gap. This is just how it should be. -JimmyTwoHand, founding member of the Irregulars, 12/23/05 And with that, the post of the Irregulars' birth was closed. Check the first pages of the Irregulars Forum and you'll see that the questions, issues and turnover were very similar to the ones we have today. Many of TG's best started here, and went on to start projects that made all of TG a better place for all TGers. We make this a better place for all the poor guys and gals out there who long to have the camraderie and tactical experience this game (and others) offer, but can't seem to find on the public servers. They in turn become the Sordavies and WhiskeySixes, the Mantises and Lucky Shots, the Wimpinators and eGoatboys...well, ok, there's really only one each of those guys (thank God!), but they were all Irregulars, and you know what I mean. The Irregulars is an essential and beloved part of the TG community, and I have no doubt that if somehow, all the Officers were obliterated by a meteor slamming into the good pirate casino ship "The Skimpy Knickers" during our Officers Retreat, many former Irregulars would step forward to claim our winnings, and then fill in as needed on the Officer roster. There are even some who have been here longer than eGoatboy OR Wimpinator, and have been quietly manipul- I mean, helping things along in the right direction, and just haven't posted much. (Tychocelchuuu! -ew- excuse me, I sneezed.) The Irregulars who spend more than a few months here almost always have a strong tie to their roots, and finding out who they are and where they are now will make you realize just what a large and excellent band of brothers (and sisters) you are a part of. We have a heritage based on people proving their worth and being invited to join every In-House Squad we have! Do us proud, Irregs--here and wherever you go. Put your tags on, earn that badge, and wear it with pride. And whether you stay 4 life or move in-house, whether you become a Supporting Member or stay a Member, you can always keep on Keepin' It Irregular. Your Servant and future Overlord,

If people serve in the Irreg's and learn the TG-way for a period of time, and then recieve an offer from an IHS, then I personally would regard that as a mission accomplished for the Irreg's. Based on what I have learned and know of the Irreg's and that it is not a 'specialist' formation unlike the IHS so should every officer in the Irreg's take pride in that Irreg's move to IHS - if that is what the members in question desire. Nah, rather say that the Irregulars is doing a lot of things right in order to keep/have people prefer to stay as Irregulars.

Re: What Is With Us Losing Good Irregs?
Most of the 3rds members were irregulars at one point in time. When we start looking for recruits, the first thing we do is browse the Irr forums looking for irregulars that are supporting members. The service that the irregulars provide for TG is invaluable. I understand that it is bittersweet when you loose a member to an in hosue squad, especially such esteemed members as have recently formed the 6th. As the exelent post by axis shows, this is how these things go.

Re: What Is With Us Losing Good Irregs?
The original founders of the Irregs created the 12th. The same might be said for the 6th but that information is classified. All I have is a few newspapers to go on... -------\/
