Regarding Nominations for Badges or Ribbons
OK, troops listen up, this is important:
Nominations must be kept private, particularly from those you have nominated. I know I have mentioned this before, and will clarify here: If you nominate someone for a badge, ribbon, or other honor or position, it should be kept private. The exception to this is to ask someone if they will join you in nominating another person, but only by PM. Those who have been put "in the loop" so to speak, must follow this same rule. Why? For the sake of Sportsmanship, Brotherhood and Honor. If you have nominated someone, it is not only considered bad form to let them know you did so, but can introduce feelings of favoritism, envy, doing each other 'favors' and a general lack of discretion and honor. How does the nominee know you nominated them because you really felt they earned it, and not because you hope to get something (bling bling) in return? BY NOT KNOWING YOU NOMINATED THEM. It's the only way to keep this process above any ethical question or reproach. I know it's hard not to let them know you nominated them, believe me, I am tempted every time I nominate someone and they are awarded. Congratulations and mentioning that you think they earned it must be the only thing you tell them. As an Irregular, this is one way we can live up to the highest standard in TG. THEREFORE: Future posts that mention having nominated a person or plans to nominate will be deleted for the sake of the communities' wellbeing. I know I can count on all of you to make this small effort for the good of all. Because really, isn't that what being a pirate is all about? ^_^ *huggs* Keepin' It Irregular,
