As you may have noticed, the new Irregulars Badges are starting to show up!
The O-corps is working hard to distribute these in a timely fashion with respect to rank and seniority, but the time has come to distribute in mass-mailings via PM.

If you have not yet chosen a Platoon and notified the responsible Platoon Sergeant, don't expect to get a Badge in your in-box.
CHOOSE YOUR PLATOON, SOLDIERS. The sooner you do, the quicker you can get on to doing all the cool stuff we offer you.

If you are a normal male between the ages of 15 and 45, you will likely want to ascend quickly and get the coolest-looking avatar. Let me tell you now--those who serve because they want to serve end up receiving the honor, and the badge is little recompense for the effort put out to receive it. The real reward is seeing the positive effect you have had on our online community. Happy, mature gamers having good, clean fun in a safe and respectful atmosphere is the TG goal.

If you feel you have done something great, but have not been recognized, let us know--we'll be fair. We want you to want to improve yourself and be the best possible example of a Tactical Gamer and we want you to feel recognized! Just being an Irregular is itself a recognition of your desire to follow the TG Way. We're all learning and growing together and we have lots of fun doing it!

The badge classes are as follows:

The Original: Silver-Grey, with white Swords and Skull. All members get this badge to start. This is a new and improved distinction over all previous eras of the Irregulars, thanks to Project New Cutlass! Show your colors with pride, and know you got it better than we did in the old days.

Distinguished Irregulars Badge: Awarded to those who have shown their dedication and support of the Irregulars and the TG Way. Examples of actions considered for nomination can be found at our Wiki. This is less an award for x,y and z, and more a recognition that this Irregular is an Irregular without a doubt, can be counted on, and has shown growth and dedication to teaching, learning, and Keepin' It Irregular.
It is important to note that having this badge does not confer a rank or give the bearer a precedence over those with The Original, either in-game or in the forums. It may be that a member who has been awarded a DIB is more experienced and able to help new members, but that's as far as it goes.

Veteran's Badge: If you have earned your Distinguished Irreg's badge and have been an Irregular for a more than a year past your official entrance into the Irregs, we have a special badge for you. The few, the proud, the IRR4L! It's up to you to keep track of how long you've been an Irreg and let us know when you're eligible. PM any Officer to request your badge, you fossil.

Platoon Sergeant Badge: Deeper red and with Silver Swords, these mark the Leaders of the various Irregulars Platoons (do you know your Platoon Sergeant?). Sergeants do have seniority within their Platoon, and should also be minded in-game or forum with regards to Irregular policy, fair-play and decent behavior.

Officer Corps Badge: Black with an incandescent vertical core, and Gold Swords. These are your go-to guys for problems, questions, proposals and nominations. We organize, moderate, train, recruit and facilitate The Irregulars. We are here for you, here to lead and here to serve. We also elect new Platoon Sergeants and Officers, and have the final say on policy, Badge nominations, and inter-squad relationships with the In-House Squads.

Chaplet, First Class (Silver): A recognition of generosity of time and effort in service to The Irregulars.

Chaplet, Second Class (Gold): Like the Outstanding Volunteer ribbon, this is the Irregulars' highest recognition (unless we come up with a Diamond Tiara or something...) for time and effort in service to The Irregulars. Serving as an Officer for any significant length of time earns the Gold Wreath (for example I've spent my Friday night game-time answering PMs, writing posts and moderating the forum instead of getting with my buddies for fun--Boxcar is probably going to spend several hours of his weekend organizing and distributing badges...) but anyone is eligible to work their @$$ off to get one. By the time you earn it though, it won't seem like much compared to the work you did.

That's a wry comment, by the way, not a complaint.

We ask that you do not link to or DL another's badge. Remember that Argent (silver-grey) is the heraldic color of PATIENCE. You will be notified and given your badge in due time; and we hope to get this large task done on weekends. We also have kids, wives, girlfriends, ex-wives , school and real jobs, so this organization doesn't turn on a dime. It's more like a big pirate ship.

Looks like im right at the bottom, but im glad that i was the first to experience my rank of badge

Or as a true pirate would do it: you could right click on someone's avatar, save as, and upload.

Big Brother Boxcar is watching...we already found one member who innocently copied a Platoon Sergeant's badge and was using it.

It's a question of honor among thieves, lads.

Hopefully we don't have to cut anyone adrift in the dinghy with one oar and a firkin of water.
