5. Drill at cap point. Anti-vehicle tactics and group movement.
6. Scrimmage for a few minutes

************************************************** **********************

Agenda Detail

1. Introductions

We will take a few minutes to get folks talking and to get folks to
know one another. How long have you been playing? Fav maps? Fav
vehicles? Fav tactics? Other games played?

2. Basic comm skills

We will review radio check and practice going through it one time. We will
learn EFAR and practice using it. Discuss situations when EFAR is preferred.

3. Contact Report

The other Irreg. seargents will be moving around the map. We will practice
calling out contacts while we move through the map on foot. Guests will
switch to other team and we will practice calling out contacts in more
"realistic" situations.

4. Cap point walkthrough

We will walk through a single cap point in the Rolling Thunder map. We will learn good defensive positions, we will learn ingress and egress routes to avoid detection. Natural choke points will be identified.

5. Drill at cap point

Guest officers will man the cap point and our job will be to avoid detection
destroy enemy assets such as tanks and vehicles, and egress with minimal losses. Primary goal is to prevent escape of armor and enemy assets and assist capture of flag.

6. Scrimmage

Let's try it live!

I hope to make it to this; all the things on the practice agenda are important to know for every Irregular.

I also hope to see some Distinguished Irregulars there--be a good example to your fellow Irregs and show your support for SSA's hard work and planning!

Well crap, can't someone else step up and be practice leader?

I would, if I had the experience. Unfortunately I can never find a squad on the server's that's willing to play according to the SOPs, so I never get any practice.

If this thing happens, I'd certainly like to attend (if you are accepting non-Irregs that is). I'd also be willing to assist as required. Arrrrghh.

Cheers,

Re: Special Ops Platoon Practice #1 - ALL WELCOME

I don't believe we'll take this practice from SSA if he is unable to come himself; he's put a lot of forethought and planning into this.
What we can do is have a different event or some kind of practice session that day. I'm perfectly comfortable teaching some basic movement and defense techniques that are applicable in all the battlefield games.
Or,
It may be that a different Platoon Sergeant will be able to do their practice session instead.

Stay tuned, and please be patient.

The Irregs shoot me up enough that I'm regularly a patient.
