WANTED: Tactical Mod guide authors
One of the things we would like to put together for the Tactical Mod is a set of guides... and we haven't had the time to do so. So I wanted to ping all of the Tac Mod players out there to see if anyone has the desire to do so. Some of these would be similar to the guides we have for BF2... but tailored specifically for the Tac Mod.
Here are some examples guides we'd like to see...- COing
- SLing
- Intro Guide
- Tactical Mod & the TG Primer

Re: WANTED: Tactical Mod guide authors
I also can help. I think there can definitely be different versions since there's not only one way to SL or CO in TacMod. Duke, for instance, is involved in combat when he COs but I personally hide and keep the map filling my screen.
A very rough draft of the way I CO in TacMod is:
1) Decide which squads defend and which ones attack
2) Drop supplies on squads playing defense
3) Zoom in and provide intel when a friendly squad is engaged
4) Provide intel of CP conditions before an assault is launched
5) Coordinate air units with ground units
************************
(newer)
6) Use in-game clock to synchronize attacks on a designated CP
7) Notify SLs when a flag goes neutral in their area (with larger capture zones)
Of course I can "tidy" this up and expound on certain areas, but this is a brief description of my personal take on CO'ing in TacMod.|TG-1stMIP|Coridon

Re: WANTED: Tactical Mod guide authors
Some of this stuff could be integrated in with the Training & Tactics Library on the Wiki.. as a TacMod addendum of sorts.
Battlefield Admin(BF2 Rules) (BF2142 Rules)

Yeah, I think they could be integrated into that. My plan is to place links to the guides from the Tac Mod website once we have them near complete. So if the authors want to start putting them in the wiki, go ahead. The wiki will be a good place to allow for revisions, etc.

Re: WANTED: Tactical Mod guide authors
may i suggest a FAQ section, seems even though every new release the same exact questions come up. Might be nice to have that, maybe it would cut down on lazy people, and save bommandos health
that sounds like a good idea trooper.

We have a FAQ section... what questions keep popping up?

Re: WANTED: Tactical Mod guide authors
I dont mind doing some legwork to format and stick things up on the wiki. With the recent decline in Bf2 ive been holding off adding new content until things shake out with the mods and 2142. This stuff should be useful for some time to come though so let me know if you need any help. As to writing them i have never been the most accomplished tacmod player so i probably wouldnt be the best person to write original content for them.
