i read the thread below about a problem similar but mine is a bit different.
when i use the shortcut for tacmod 1.4 it causes the screen to go black for a few seconds then the game crashes (i never see the slash screen or anything)
but, the same thing happens when i try BF2 now also....
i tried reinstalling tacmod and the new map pack to no avail
my sys specs
dell 8400
3 gigs of ram
256 meg athlon x1300 pro
windows xp home (fully updated)
was 1.4 for nilla released? if so maybe thats my problem......................
I doubt this problem has anything to do with the installers. They just give you a few folders in bf2\Levels and a mods\tactical-mod folder. Most of the times I've heard people crashing immediately it was because they had an unsupported video resolution in 'My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\000X\Video.con'. See what resolution you have in there and make sure it's not a widescreen resolution or something.
EDIT: Oh, also there's been times when BF2 has crashed and it corrupted the profile I was using, causing BF2 to crash when trying to start it up again. The con files in my profile were "blank" -- all of the characters were replaced by spaces, weird stuff. I usually just copied the con files from another profile to replace the corrupted ones and everything was back to normal.
