Game-play FAQs

Q: What is the flag capture logic?
A:
  • Neutralize the flag when the assaulting team has more units within the capture zone than the defending team. This simulates a contested flag.
  • A contested flag will remain neutral until one team has a four times (4x) the number of units within the capture zone than the defending team.
  • The flag capture zone has been increased to cover the simulated battle area.
  • In some cases, the flag position has been moved from the standard vanilla coordinates.

Q: Why do some un-manned vehicles show up as blue on my map?
A: The mod locks vehicles to the appropriate team so the enemy cannot use them. The BF2 1.2 patch introduced some logic that makes any locked vehicle appear blue on the map. If you see a blue vehicle on your map, it may or may not be occupied.

Q: Why can I not enter some vehicles?
A: It sounds like you may be trying to enter an enemy vehicle. The mod locks some vehicles (armor / aircraft) to the appropriate team. If a vehicle spawned at an enemy controlled CP, that vehicle is owned by that team. If your team captures the CP, the vehicle must be destroyed so that a vehicle can spawn controlled by your team.

Q: My squad was surrounding the flag but the flag wouldn't raise.
A: The new flag capture logic requires that the capture zone be occupied by only one team before the flag will raise.

"Support game play in a near-simulation environment. Where the focus of play would not be solely on doing what it takes to win, but doing so utilizing real-world combat strategy and tactics rather than leveraging exploits provided to players by the design of the game engine, regardless of the level of advantage, if any, it gives over the opposing team." -- Tactical Gamer Primer
