Kashan 16 MEC bunker suppression tactic.
Very simple plan here. On Kashan, to the west of the bunker complex is a nice stretch of long ridge. Have a Mechanized/Heavy Weapons squad setup on that ridge. Consisting of 1x BRDM (2x crewman), 1x sniper, 1x H-AT, 1x Medic and obviously the officer. The BRDM can provide effective suppressive fire onto enemy infantry and serves also serves as a great anti vehicle and BH weapon. The sniper can pick of enemy infantry in the open, forcing them to fall back into the bunker which allows advancing friendlies to surround the bunker occupied by the enemy.
The H-AT can serve as a weapon to harass enemy fortifications and another anti-vehicular weapon. And the medic simply keeps everyone alive as you are sure to receive fire after the US have spotted you. Because there are no Attack Helicopters/Jets you can remain stationary for a good while and maintain effective suppressive fire. You can also relay information on what the enemy is doing from that position.
This could be used as a tactic for the US but the long ridge west provides a lot more distance and is easily traversable for vehicles. And because the west (not really high) ridge is lengthy you can keep a look out for flanking forces where as on the east ridge (main ridge, seperates north village from bunker complex) the enemy can easily sneak up using the centre mountain/east ridge line.
I put this into practice, it worked very effectively, although it did take about an hour to capture the north bunker. But we kept the US from building FOBs, harassed their infantry, and destroyed their vehicles. It was also great fun, had a good K/D for the squad as a whole. It's suggested that you get people with experience for this type of work though.
