I know that the support class can only have 5 on the ground at a time. I assume the medic works the same. |

Re: I need a MEDIC !!!!!!
Tip for squadleaders on using the medics:
Especially when you have two medics, it seems useful to assign one medic to be your buddy and stick with you, rarely should he revive other squadmembers.. The other one should be assigned to revive the rest of the squad. He could try to stick with a support guy, because they tend to die alot when firing alot, but with a medic closeby, he can be much more effective. When you are a medic as squadmember, you could also request from your squadleader to give these orders. And added bonus of this setup is that you would actually already have divided the squad in two fireteams, and if the squadleader is e.g. support, they could give supporting fire for the assault team. I've been using the support gun more and more to try actually giving suppressive fire, and it's starting to work, but I die alot doing it. So having a medic nearby sure seems a good idea. What do you squadleaders and medics think about this setup?

Re: I need a MEDIC !!!!!!
The most important thing I can think of (and it's been mentioned a few times, but is still incredibly important) is to make sure an area is clear before reviving a teammate. If you just absolutley have to revive a teammate and you know that you will take fire while reviving him then TELL THEM BEFORE. If they know they are about to be revived then they can prepare and be ready to sprint as soon as they're up. Often I have been revived in the last few seconds before respawn, so I've got my spawn screen up, and get shot again before I realize what happened. Also, when going for a fast revive don't jump and dive, just hit the prone key while sprinting. It makes it much easier to actually land on your target.
My squad members can attest to the effectiveness of the above tactics. I use them all the time and it works great. If my squad leader is down and his body is within view of the enemy I tell him I coming for the revive and tell him to get ready to run. I pull out my paddles, sprint, go prone, ZAP, get up, and keep running. (Depending on how far you're sprinting you might want to have you're medpacks out for the run and pull out the paddles at the last second) You're very hard to hit when doing that and once you get it right you can revive without hardly slowing down. I call it the 'flying revive', since I hardly even touch the ground.

Re: I need a MEDIC !!!!!!
When I go for an 'under fire' revive I always toss a medpack at the dead mans location...
because more then likly one of us is going to need it before we make it back to cover...

Re: I need a MEDIC !!!!!!
I played the medic class the other night and confirmed that you can only have 5 med packs on the ground at the same time. If you throw a 6th then the 1st one you threw disappears.
I don't play this class much. I typically have very bad luck when I play medic. For example, I was playing on Sharqi and my squad was pushing on the TV station. The SL was leading us around the fence at the top of the cliff and we cam under fire. The guy in front of me went down and came to rest right on the edge of the cliff. I went to revive him and I went over the edge. My entire squad got killed while I tried to climb back up. I immediately requested someone else take over the medic kit. On the topic of the medic and support class combo: My brother and I used to play Pubbie servers before we found the TG server. I usually played support and he played medic. I could deploy the support gun and he would hang back and toss me health when needed. It worked fairly well. |

Re: I need a MEDIC !!!!!!
Regarding the med packs dissappearing. It's exactly like ammo packs, claymores, and c4. It is associated with your current kit. Say you throw out a medpack, get killed, and someone else picks up your kit. If someone grabs a health pack, the person who took your kit will get the healing point, not you.
Notice those kits on the ground shortly after a battle? When those dissappear, so do all the items associated with that kit (health packs included). Also, always remember that revives show up in the minimap. A quick glance at the minimap during a battle can usually give away the location of an oncoming enemy, even without help from the commander (ie: UAV). ~Salad

Re: I need a MEDIC !!!!!!
As a side note, I sometimes take the medic Kit when I'm in command... this gives you the extra radar knowledge of seeing when friendlys die... although you can see on the status of the squads on the left of the command screen when someone dies, its alot more relevant to see the standard red symbol on your radar that all medics get (to know who needs reviving)...
its just an extra bit of intel that can come in handy
