I had sent an email with a whole lot of information as well as MD5 files and DxDiag file to people at PunkBuster in attempt to find a solution to all of this. They answered back the very next day.

The shaders file check is indeed disabled for BF2. There has to be something strange on your end, as 99% of the rest of the TG population is able to connect.

I was one of those 1% who couldn't connect. I had to do a full reinstall....not once,not twice..but 5 times for it to finally work.

Ok so the run down so far is this.
1. My MD5 Hash are perfect for the files on my computer as proven by PB Tech Support. 2. The MD5 checks are set properly on the server and I'm going to assume your MD5 Hash files are correct. So my HDD and the Server are checking out. Which only leaves my RAM or more specifically RAM access while playing BF2. I have no idea why suddenly now it would be doing this since this problem started on April 1st. MD5 files existed before the newest update and PB was running checks on them just fine in the past. But I'll run a RAM full scan anyways just to see if it find any issues. Seriously, it might just be time to buy a new computer if I want to play PR at all. Sad but true.

Have you attempted to connect to one of the other servers that are running these new md5 files? Do that, make sure you play enough to make sure, and let me know.

Thanks for posting those. I will take a look at my MD5 hash and compare them to your list.
Also here is a curious question. Do the levels for BF2 vanilla need to be active on a PR server? I'm curious what would happen if they were commented out. Since we never play Vanilla BF2 maps on the PR server I wonder if we really need PB checks on them.

Do you get this MD5 kick at the start of games, half way through or even at the end? Im wondering if its related to disk activity distrupting pb |

I 2 have been getting kicked from tg server only for md5 tool mismatch. I use the pr short cut to enter the game. I just reinstalled bf2 and the 1.41 patch, I will be reinstalling pr shortly and see what happens. I am a computer dummy so if anyone has a fix please explain as if talking to a 3rd grader...
. TG is the only server that I have experienced this and its a shame because it's my favorite one! Also I went into bf2 vanilla and on certain servers I get kicked beacuse of shader issues, totally confused now!! |

Holy crap Kilroy....That seems like alot work for a game! If I tried that I would probably blow up my PC
. If I do have to take the fatal steps you prescribe I will indeedy need a friend to do it for me. I did a full reinstall and so far it seems to work, no MD5 Tools Mismatch so far. But on certain maps dalian plant and zatar wetlands after the game is done I'm getting a server error and kicked to the login box. Logging back in I found several other people experienced the same.Sad to say I will be trying other servers, tired of all the troubles. It should'nt have to be this hard to play. Anyway great posts from Kilroy, TG and everyone else, I know where to go now for some computer help for dummies... (meaning me) |
