BF2 on Vista business?

Hey guys Im trying to get a buddy into BF2 with us but hes having issues running it. He says that he has installed it, and when he tries to run it he gets the splash screen and then the splash screen goes away and nothing happens. No errors either. He is on a laptop running Vista business 32 bit. Anyone have this issue before?

When the splash screen disappears, check task manager and see if it's running in the process list but with no window. (The application tab only shows programs that have a window.)
