    pci slots and sound card

    A couple weeks ago i lost sounds in music,games,etc.I thought it was the sound card but didn't have the money to get a new one then.I use onboard sound with no problem.Got a new card yesterday(creative) and plug it in and no go.Yes i remove inboard sound drivers and disabled it in bios but still no go.Tried all three pci slots and card still not recognize.Tried new sound card in wife computer it worked fine.
    Could all of my pci slots go bad at same time or I'm I missing something?

    Did you also try the first sound card in the other computer? Did it end up working also?
    Edit- NM I just noticed you had double posted in the hardware forum and gotten help there.
