Re: Random Lag Last Night?

For some unexplained reason the squadless kick mod we put in place was causing some spikes after each kick. We're addressing the problem and I believe it's been disabled for the moment.

"Support game play in a near-simulation environment. Where the focus of play would not be solely on doing what it takes to win, but doing so utilizing real-world combat strategy and tactics rather than leveraging exploits provided to players by the design of the game engine, regardless of the level of advantage, if any, it gives over the opposing team." -- Tactical Gamer Primer

If this was a server connection issue, I guess I connect through a lot of servers and should have been dropped at least once... so perhaps too many players for the server to handle?

Edit: Nice game btw. You guys rock.
It definitely isn't too many people for the server to handle. I've been on plenty of times with 64 people and always maintained 20-35 ping. I still did when the spiking was occurring..I'd just spike up in the 100s and everyone woudl start banding. It's definitely an issue the admins are looking in to and it will be resolved.

Re: Random Lag Last Night?

Uhh... Dumb question on my part, but how do you tell lag from bad framerate? I am under the impression that the framerate is more stuttering, and lag is more teleporting soldiers/vehicle.
