Re: Need Help!!!
PntBllJnky22,
Went through a similar episode with my system: http://www.tacticalgamer.com/battlefield-2-technical-support-faqs/55975-after-reinstall-battlefield-2-will-not-start.html Basically I uninstalled BF2, removed my ATI drivers using DriverCleaner, defrag'd the HD, did a "clean" reinstalled using ATI 5.6 drivers, then reinstalled BF2. Good Luck, SBR |

Re: Need Help!!!
ok guys, i think i found the problem with this is to do with resolution / refresh rates, specifically making sure that the rate you use in game is compatible with your card & monitor.
You should be able to find the available resolutions / refresh rates by right clicking on your desktop, selecting Properties, and then choosing the Settings tab. You may need to select an advanced button or something from there to look at your monitor rates. Simply put if you have chosen a rate you cannot draw, then the game will crash. And here's the real irony, if the default setting is no good... well ![]() If this is the case remove anything that locks your screen res/rate and go to: My Documents/Battlefield 2/Profile and look for video.con in the profile you are using. MAKE A COPY AS A BACKUP! look for the line: VideoSettings.setResolution and set it as: VideoSettings.setResolution 1024x768@60Hz (or adjust the figures as needed). |

Re: Need Help!!!
wow, the solution is sooooo easy!!! just completly uninstall bf2. delete EVERY SINGLE FILE in your computer of the game. try using "search" and look in "MyComputer" for "BF2" and then seach for "Battlefield 2". delete whatever files you find, just make sure they are the game files, not any other files that the computers needs (may find many different files when searching "bf2"). then go ahead and delete the file "Battlefield 2" located in "Documents and Settings/(User Name)/My Documents/Battlefield 2". delete that, then just install the game back on. worked for me!
for those of you too lazy to read all that, here you go: -uninstall game -delete all of the game's files -install -frag the noobs ![]() |
