Re: Network Data Corruption Error Please Try Again

In the last few days my verifcation wait time has varied. I also sometimes have very long waits after clicking the join game button. I suspect that latter is due to insufficient RAM. I also got the network data corruption error again yesterday - very long wait for verification and then it kicks me back to the multiplayer browser. This seems to happen once a day. |

Yes, but forwarding a 50,000 port range of TCP and UDP ports yesterday you wouldn't think this would be an issue. Well I guess my install theory is out the window too. |

Re: Network Data Corruption Error Please Try Again
Going to revive this thread as it was the first thing that came up on google when I searched "Network Data Corruption Error". Again I will reiterate these old points: 20-30 second load times followed by 5 minute "verifying client data" sections that either fail with a "Network Data Corruption Error" or barely get me on the server. Even when I do succeed in getting onto the server however I still suffer from intense lag around allied and enemy players. I have gone into singleplayer and pumped up settings to ridiculous levels and still have not gotten a bit of lag, meanwhile even the lowest settings in multiplayer give me these horrible issues on the TG servers and elsewhere. I will also reiterate the other point, TG takes at least twice as long as the other servers to client verify. Anyway onto the computer specs.
1GB Kingston -something- RAM ATI Radeon 9800 XT 256MB 3.2 GHZ Hyperthreading Intel Pentium Processor 70GB Harddrive DSL Connection I really cant attribute these things to anything on my end. When I was playing the demo a month ago I never experienced this lag chaos that has enveloped my system. On any server however, my ping remains stable while the in-game movements do not. I can only attribute this to something I am missing since the release of the retail version, as I loaded up the demo and it worked fine again. Edit: I just finished scanning the rest of the google results, this problem so far only seems to exist at TacticalGamer. I am very perplexed. -Zephyr

Re: Network Data Corruption Error Please Try Again
Since the patch I have not experienced the Network Data Corruption Error as frequently, but it does still happen on occasion. I have only played on TG for weeks now, so I cannot compare the client verification time to other servers. One thing that has improved the wait, however, is disabling Norton auto-protect. I know that all games recommend turning it off but it never seemed to make any difference so I just left it on, but it does seem to have shortened the client verification wait to a more manageable 2 minutes or so.

Hi,
I joined this site to post in this thread, as today for the first time I got the Network Data Corruption Error and the long wait times (previously had been no errors and very fast loading and fast wait times - sub 1 minute). This is happening randomly on many servers. So, what changed? 1. I forgot to turn off Norton AV Auto-Protect. 2. I removed one stick of RAM, so now I only have 512MB and not 1024MB. I have an Athlon 3200 XP and 6800GT clocked to an Ultra and it runs great. The reason I removed the RAM was because it had developed errors and was causing BSOD's (of the IRQ_STOP type) and CTD's. These have now gone along with the faulty memory, but the above two issues have appeared. Therefore I will be buying 2Gig's of RAM and must not forget to disable NAV! Cheers CB PS I did a Complete install of the game. This should almost certainly be the better option, as almost all the data will be on your hard disk. PPS One reason I MAY be getting faster loads times with the 1Gig is because I did installed an ISO DVD image of the game using Daemon Tools (you'll need AntiBlaxx also). There is a 1.8Gig Cab file that I think the game has to load and if you use an image drive, then it's loading from disk, not slow-ass DVD (and from my RAID array that's a big difference). The other (small) advantage is that you don't have to have the DVD in the drive to run the game. |

Re: Network Data Corruption Error Please Try Again
Whoa, almost a 2 year bump! Is that a record? This was even back when I had my other name and didn't use caps! If this is for vanilla (which TG no longer supports) I would check that the rank you are trying to reach doesn't have another condition (like all basic badges). Try getting another point on a diffrent server as that sometimes gets you the next rank.
