Kick voted as soon as joining game?

Do ppl get kicked on the public TG server to make room for reserved slots? Because I just joined a match in progress, literally have not taken one shot and was kicked for the reason of "excessive TK or vote." I had to make my own squad since all others were full. I was alone by a flag.

Is this a known glitch?

Yes, it happens. We remove players to make room for Supporting Members. Often, it is the last player joined.

Easy fix for that issue. Become a supporting member.

Doesn't this also happen when your latency is too high? I heard it did somewhere.

The only reason this site exists and we have the servers we have is thanks to our supporting members. Therefore, they get first dibs when it comes to any of our resources.

Unfortunately that is the stock message in BF2 that we have no control over.

Without our supporting members, no one would be enjoying the servers that are available. We understand that not everyone can or wants to be an SM and that's ok. But we hope that everyone understands that it is those SMs that keep this community and the servers alive.

I wouldn't call it that. If it's too much in one hit, pay by the month ($9). The price of a movie ticket every month will get you a gaming experience far superior to any other servers. This is great value for money for the hours of enjoyable gameplay you get.

If you truly don't want to shell out, then every now and then, a SM will take your place I am on TeamSpeak every time I play and only hear 5 or so members ask for a place during peak times, so this occurrence is rare.

That's a little harsh, don't you think?

My $9 per month goes not just the BF2 server, but supports all of Tactical Gamer's other operations. I consider it money well spent. Hell, I buy more coffee than that in a week!

You probably don't want the sales pitch, but I'm going to give it to you anyway: that monthly fee gives a player acces to:

Websites
www.tacticalblog.com
www.tacticalconflict.com
www.tacticalgamer.com
www.tacticalwiki.com

Gamer Servers
3 Battlefield 2 Servers
2 Counterstike Source Servers
1 Natural Selection Server
1 SWAT 4 Server
2 Ghost Recon Servers (?)
1 Community Event Server
2 Teamspeak Servers

If supporting a great community of gamers by contributing is being "monetarily raped" then you aren't obligated to do so, but don't expect to get any preferential treatment either. Getting kicked for a Supporting Member is something you will just have to live with.

Re: Kick voted as soon as joining game?

I was a non-supporting members years ago when Apo was still running the servers off computers at his day job (I thnink he quit that to give this a full time go).
Also at the time I was heavily into "World War 2 Online". When TG went to a pay service which iirc was MUCH more restrictive to non paying members I stopped playing here beacause I was already paying a lot for WW2OL.

Now I do not play WW2OL and I have always been peeking in here on occasion. So now that there are active games here that I enjoy I am an SM. Great value for the money, even if it is a month's wages for me at the moment.
