Do I need a software to use VOIP in BF2?

Or I just plug my headset into my sound card and enable VOIP on the game and thats all ?

jus plug in your headset and makesure VOIP is turned on in the sound options, also ensure your receive and transmit are at 100% and I myself use mic boost otherwise im too faint
