    KB940105 Vista x86/x64 Hotfix for memory management

    I posted this in the "Hardware and Software Discussion" sub forum, but I'm reposting it here too because I know how many people are having severe crashing issues in vista with 2142 and bf2.

    Microsoft has released a hotfix which addresses memory management for vista x86 and x64. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940105

    Currently it's available by request only and can be requested by using this on line form, https://support.microsoft.com/contac...1410&WS=hotfix

    Anand tech has a brief article discussing the hotfix, http://www.anandtech.com/systems/showdoc.aspx?i=3060.

    It's supposed to fix issues such as the BF2 and 2142 memory crashes. I requested them last night and installed on my notebook/desktop today, but haven't had time to test yet.

    And incidently, this hotfix will be on windows update on the 23d according to Phil Taylor of the FSX Dev Team.

    Well, it wasnt a direct issue to my CTD issue in BF2, but i do seem to have faster map loading, apart of the hotfix i dont know, but its a keeper

    I have installed this update on my Vista 32 bit, but with no effect, my BF2 games still crashes.
