Re: Cerbere Landing - 10/05/07
This round was pretty invigerating for how short it was. The round prior we (EU) were kind of getting our N.U.T.S. handed to us on a silver platter (so to speak) by a PAC team consisting of 100% pubbies. We rallied at the end and only lost by about 50 or so tickets but it was still a frustrating round.
When the sides were switched though our squad made a bold rush for command center while the rest of the team pushed up the map normally. By the end we all met together at roadblock for an awesome capout.

Unfortunately the server was super-flakey last night for some reason and this is about the only round I was able to finish 100% but it was worth it.

Re: Cerbere Landing - 10/05/07
That was a really fun round, we were all a bit frustrated from the previous round and wanted to redeem ourselves. As soon as I got everyone in the squad I hear, were going to command center right? command center right? command center right?...Guess the boys wanted to go to command center so we did, took the west route with very little resistance and as rali said, we met everyone else at roadblock, it was an awesome round, thanks to everyone in the squad.

Re: Cerbere Landing - 10/05/07
I actually spawned up at the command center figuring someone was going to jeep rush the command center or sneak around. Unfortunately my squad commander didn't share this view and well :P the rest is, as they say, history. I will say this, that they managed to cap the flags very rapidly so we didn't have time to respawn, and we all sat around going "Wait, what just happened?"

Re: Cerbere Landing - 10/05/07
We do rock. I think TG is the best damn place to game PERIOD and anybody who thinks TG doesn't rock is dead wrong.
Crux, I'm not sure why you are trying to bring so much negativity to this thread. If a mix-matched squad made up of two different IHS's and a non-IHS squad member working together with hodge-podge team of pubbies late at night to rally to a great, almost flawlessly coordinated capout doesn't show that TG's core value of teamwork is by far the best and most affective mindset to use in this game then I don't know what to tell you.

Re: Cerbere Landing - 10/05/07
For what its worth, I tried a western rush one time while squadleading this weekend based on this thread. I typically prefer to slog up on foot to South Town Center, on to roadblock, but instead rushed STC, quick-capped it, then ran up the western road to command. Normally I would have gone for roadblock and played conservatively, but decided to try it.
If the point of AARs is to learn about various tactics, then I'd say this one worked nicely.

Re: Cerbere Landing - 10/05/07
I was going to try and hold my tongue on this, but I decided against it. Since there are not defined rules for an AAR, I feel this qualifies as an AAR. On an apparently full public server (TG), the PAC Side was able to cap out the opposing side within five minutes. The post eludes to some apparent bunny hopping by the "pubbies" on the other side. That is a pretty admirable accomplishment even on a non-TG server. How many AAR posts are not a boast in some way or another? Very rarely have a seen an AAR stating, well my team sucked and we lost by 110 tickets. Just because Rali and Doc's post were not made with the great fashion and flair as someone like Prophaniti, it doesn't discount the statement that was made.
On a side note, I don't see how boasting that TG is a great way to play violates the "TG way", most of us are here because we can't stand to play on other servers the teamwork and support from other members is unfounded. Now if I had just read your first post, I would have thought you were just asking a question, but to challenge that Rali's post violated the 'TG way' should have probably be handled through PM'sA captain of the most awesome IHS ever and remember to burn before you pillage.

Re: Cerbere Landing - 10/05/07
I'm commenting because the original post that STARTED this thread makes no mention of this. It doesn't talk about tactics, about the people involved, or really anything that marks the round except for the score and the comment about how awesome they were. That is simply not an AAR. TG is about maturity and bringing that maturity to apply teamwork into a game. If the post had in some way shown this I'd be all for it.
I'm not posting this as an admin 'coming down' on this thread or any of you. I'm simply trying to make you think about what you're posting. I don't consider someone boasting about capping out another team and taking the time to talk about how great they were without the slightest mention of tactics or teamwork to be very TG. Maybe it's just me.
