Re: BFCL 5 vs 5 AAR Thread

Hats off the the 9th, in a match consisting of polar opposite rounds, we the 21st were defeated (21st)97 - (9th)120 on Suez Canal 5v5 BFCL.

First round was a contest in patience, with undoubtedly a few card games breaking out while the 21st held PAC's side of the river with the 9th on the EU side. The 9th made 4-5 pushes against our defense but were unable to take the flag. They did at one point make it to flat ground and move on the flag but were dispatched by a quick reaction by the 21st. Slow going with the 21st unwilling to let the match get out of hand, and in hindsight also I guess unwilling to try to push and force the bleed. The match ended with the 21st holding a 97-88 ticket lead.

The second round started with the 9th making an early push across the bridge seemingly in force (all 5), they broke through and quickly took Inner bridge lock. Two of us spawned at Refugee to attempt to slow them down with questionable results. We did manage a few kills, but most were revived and shortly after Inner fell we lost Refugee. Immediately after losing Inner our SL rushed toward Outer Bridge, left one SM there then pushed onto the back PAC flag. We took Outer, and after 2-3 pushes managed to take the back flag only to find we lost Outer in the process. The bleed began to hurt us at this point, forcing us to re-take Outer at any cost. Once Outer was secure we had no choice (our ticket deficit was somewhere around 50? tickets or more), but to push in force onto Inner. The final 5 minutes of round two showed some of the best action of the BFCL season so far. In the long run we neutralized Refugee almost taking Inner and pulling a capout. Two 9th members remained alive on Inner forcing another push while they re-took Refugee. We were down to 6 tickets when we made our final push against their one flag. I feel we got the better of them momentarily, and had them surrounded at Refugee, but great defense and reviving by the 9th took our last 6 tickets leaving us down 32 - 0 at the end of the round.

Kudos to the 9th, well played. We have one more week left in the regular season, the 3rd, and 9th already hold playoff spots, and we need a win next week for contention.

Re: BFCL 5 vs 5 AAR Thread

Yes, the first round was a bore fest. I would have been nice to see the other team more than a fleeting few seconds that one time, but hey, I got through War and Peace twice.

The second round was much more intense. We decided go all out and just push on every flag. If that meant flag hopping then so be it. It turned out to be a great round with lots of stuff to satiate even the most demanding adrenaline junkies. The most memorable moment of the night: On our very first push our fearless Squad leader decides to go base jumping and takes a header off of the bridge's underpass forgetting to deploy his chute before hitting the rocks below. We got the revive in with one second left on the clock. Had we not gotten him up, that push might have ended up much differently.

Good round and I look forward to the next time we meet .

Re: BFCL 5 vs 5 AAR Thread

the 3rd came out on top again 109-60 against MatureAsskickers

a few mistakes in the first round and just feeling out the enemy caused a 43-60 lose.

the second round found the 3rd more aggressive and using our advantages (shooting and reviving) to punish (MA) into 66-0 win

And for those who have never seen 16 player Suez

I disagree with it not being a lot of fun, I actually enjoyed the map but hated running everywhere. Next up: Tampa, ugh...

Better bring that "Squad Bacon", we're gonna be mighty hungry after running to those flags.

2/24/08 TG-21 vs ACR on the ever popular Highway Tampa 16 player map:

Early on before the match started both squads had at least 6 players on server, the question was asked and both squads agreed to run with 6 players instead of 5. Both rounds ran almost identically. TG-21 ran two 3-man squads in the first round with a defensive team including a sniper. The sniper worked well here as opposed to most (if not all) other 5v5 matches due to the high ground at Refinery and the extensive field of view. Second round was a 2-man defensive squad and 4-man attack. Both rounds we managed to take and hold both flags for the first 5-8 minutes giving us a nice (30-50) ticket lead from the bleed, then held our one flag and slowly wittled down their tickets. Well played by the ACR, the bleed was just too much to overcome.

    1st round: TG-21 (47) - ACR (9) us as EU
    2nd round: TG-21 (61) - ACR (0) us as PAC
    Final score: TG-21 (108) - ACR (9)

This should clear the way for a playoff spot for the 21st, not official though until BFCL announces. If so Tactical Gamer will again have all three squads who participated in the playoffs for the second straight BFCL season!

thanks for the pre-announcement congrats on the win which we did have.

the 3rd faced off against <<S>>/<SOC>

First round the 3rd held two flags for quite some time and ended the round 91-0
second round the 3rd was content with just holding one flag the entire round and the timer ran out at 87-33

congrats to the 9th and 21st
