Re: Return of the Roflcopter
Yep, I've sat through a round of roflcopter. It was Lyra flying, reaper gunning, and Crux and me repairing.
If I could describe it in one word, it'd be statpadding =p
I think we crashed a couple of times but even still, it was a ridiculously-scored round.
Edit: Just to clarify: we weren't stat padding, I was just joking. We were a tightly-knit squad, we communicated well with each other, and everyone did their job properly; as a result we all got high scores. We weren't doing this as a persuit of points and nothing else: we were denying the other team air superiority, we were dropping motion mines to stop their vehicles, and we were killing infantry and helping our team capture flags: we very much so working with and for the rest of our team.Last edited by Zhohar; 12-27-2007 at 06:30 PM.

Re: Return of the Roflcopter
Yeah I am sure I still need points
Transporting is one of the things to require most teamwork and communication in this game - so its hell of a lot of fun

Re: Return of the Roflcopter
Meh. It isn't stat padding. Stat padding is doing something purely with the intent of scoring points without regard to your team's winning.
The rofl-coptor is about using the transport to suppress enemy infantry and air vehicles. Yes, a high score tends to result from it if done well, but that doesn't negate the effectiveness of it.
I get a high score from killing people with my Voss, reviving my team-members and capping flags. Is that stat-padding?

Re: Return of the Roflcopter
Had a great time Roflcoptering on the Gunn server into the wee hours of the morning with a few of the 3rd insomniacs + Lyra. To the untrained (noob) eye the extreme points that can be had by running a transport squad can be confused with Statpadding/Hacking. At one point someone typed in chat, "TG = Hackers". I think Reaper snagged a screenshot. Fun times!

Damn, I knew I should have joined you guys last night when I got done playing frontlines. I was really tired but that would have woke me up.

Re: Return of the Roflcopter
I was accused of hacking less than two weeks ago on our very own server (granted it was in full pubby swing).
"You guys are hackers"
"How the hell can a transport continually drop motion mines!"

Re: Return of the Roflcopter
What part of Support flying, Assault Medics gunning, and the rest Engineers repairing and dropping mines don't they get? We used to do that with the Chief.

Re: Return of the Roflcopter
Have to admit... our Squad made up 78 tickets while losing 1 ticket with only 3 people of 26. Losing the game might be - just a bit - the fault of someone else this time
