    TG vs TG Dec.21 Scrim

Thanks much to the organizers, CO's, and SL's...and the people that revived me a billion times!

    It is the rule in war, if ten times the enemy's strength, surround them; if five times, attack them;
if double, engage them; if equal, be able to divide them; if fewer, be able to evade them; if weaker, be able to avoid them.

Thanks again to everyone involved, without you it would've just been me alone in Tunis...which woulda been kinda boring...

Especially thanks to Rage who organized it, and thanks to Azura, for inviting me to his squad who I couldn't keep up with, and also for being an awesome SL, and obviously all my very talented squaddies.

Squad 4 - the Squad of Chaos

Just me and Darksteel. Crux asigned is for only one duty.... CHAOS!

I went Recon and Darksteel went Support. Our target were the enemy assets and faking attacks on random flags.

We were quite successful in keeping the poor enemy commander on his toes. Blew up lots of assets while trying to draw attention on us. Sometimes we ran circles around the enemy commander - who was on his commander screen, but of course we weren´t allowed to attack him.

We were also herrasing the enemy walker by EMP Grenades out of random directions and even managed to take it down with RDX and a well placed EMP Grenade.

In the second round I managed to place a Beacon on Eastern Docks. Being able to spawn in there whenever we wanted to confuse the enemy tactics. In the end we even captured Eastern Docks twice.

I apologize to anyone on the enemy team - we must have been a pain in the behind ... but it was just our job! Blame Crux!

Crux's Skins - Walker squad - Me and MDFubar

We were tasked with watching the back flags and targets of opportunity.

MDFubar ran top gun as ENG and me as support driving.

    Round 1:

Had a pretty good go of it at Eastern Docks until the dreaded walker bug hit me. (The walker continued to move it's legs even when at a complete stop) I gave driving duty to Fubar for the rest of the round. We did our best to keep the walker up and when it was down to defend the Docks. Had a lot of fun.

    Round 2:

After restarting 2142 I was no longer affected by the walker bug. Started the round by helping repel a push from across the docks. We made a few circles of Junkyard engaging what we could find but the OpFor seemed to be putting a lot more pressure on us. As we approaced Power Station to support a push we found ourselves EMP locked staring down at about 10~15 infantry with "kill the walker" on their minds. Not my best move as a driver.

At one point, while waiting for the walker to respawn, we found ourselves trying to help stop the shirts from taking Junkyard and though unsuccessful we did get quite a large number of unanswered kills by reiging grenades down from the roof of the building just south of the flag. It seemed to take them a while to find us there Wish I'd gotten some screenshots of that bit.

    Summary:

MDFubar was the perfect squaddie for our task. Great job sir!

This was my first organized scrimmage and I gotta tell you it was the most fun I've ever had in 2142. Wow, hats off to all who participated and especially to Rage and the Admins for putting on a great event. Awesome!

Thumbs up Re: TG vs TG Dec.21 Scrim

This scrim was the most fun I've ever had with my trousers on! It marked some firsts for me....

    1) First ever scrim

    2) First time using teamspeak

    3) First time I've waited till 2am (GMT) for a fight

Well done to all who took part and a very heartfelt thank you to all for a well organised, friendly and exiting experience. I will surely make every effort to up my game and hope that this becomes a regular event.

Thanks to everyone that helped put this together and really to everyone that showed up. We couldn't have had half the fun we had, without everyone. Ionpig and I where tasked with the walker, I gotta say that I normally steer clear of them. Crux asked for an Engy to go with Pig, I volunteered....what a better cobination than a Fubar-Pig!
We had lots of fun and I spent alot of time calling out infantry positions...I think I even got a few kills in that thing.
Great teamwork and what a helluva psuh by Shirts in the secodn round on Junkyard! I can't wait until the next one!!!!
Catch you all on the battlefield!

Heh, Lyra was very pesky indeed in that second round. At one point I remember how we had to double back while pushing for Junkyard from Eastern Docks as it suddenly went Grey. As we sprinted back, who did we find? Lyra and Darksteel, lolz, I got killed by Lyra, and I heard the sound of a knife as I saw in red

    |TG7| Lyramion[BJ-2 Combat Knife] ????? (I'll spare those person's blushes)

They did cause chaos, but I think I hit Lyra with rockets a few times, which I was quite proud of

(I also remember seeing two red dots in our base when I was looking at the map...I'm guessing that was CHAOS squad.

Re: TG vs TG Dec.21 Scrim

What a game. I was in a boring normal squad but it was still brilliant. It also turns out no one can actually pronounce my name. For those of you who want to try it, it's daw-hee said quickly with no emphasis on the w. Otherwise as my squad did call me bigD. It was pretty refreshing as I was getting sick of people trying to pronounce it like it was English (just because Irish people are slow and haven't heard the th sound yet ).

Our squads primary aim was defending Power from the walker and infantry. So we had two engys a support and three assault. Pfeil (SL) I believe was and engy, I was assault. On the opening rush Pfeil was to jump out of the buggy early (before the flag). Him, the other engy and support held back while the assaults hit the flag.

The first round went absolutely perfectly for skins (Crux's team) 3 SLs with big squads went in the buggy to Power Station. We capped it with little resistance. Meanwhile Lyra and Darksteel took second buggy capped eastern docks with walker. Then Lyra and Darkstell went for their undercover misson to cause ultimate pain in the neckness for their commander. Crux's squad hoofed it back to Eastern to defend with the walker. We kept this up (at least one squad were behing the western building for what seemed like almost the whole round. We gained a one hundredish ticket lead. Then we lost eastern? and our squad was sent to junkyard? I dunno it's a little bit hazy from now on but we won by 71 ticket.

The second round start didn't go quite so well same tactics only this time the seating arrangements in the buggy were a little off so we wasted precious seconds with that. When we got to power station it was deserted. we capped quickly (as you do with 15ish people on a flag). We then saw the opposition buggy fly by on it's way to junkyard. Curx's squad and the 3rd squad both went back to Junkyard to defend. We managed to hold onto junkyard for a while but I can only assume that the enemy threw their whole team into the assault because we lost it quick enough. Our job was still to defend Power but as the fight drew on a neut here, a short-lived cap there it looked like we needed to take action. We left Power Station and spent the rest of the round defending or assaulting Eastern and Junkyard. It was really close the whole round but we (skins) managed to win by twenty tickets.

Anyway thanks for an awesome scrim guys. Pfeil, Crux, Lorax and Rage great job. I suppose this is going to become a weekly event I suppose (please). Only messing I know how much of a hassle it must of been trying to get the server set up., but monthly would be brilliant.

(Sorry for such little detail but it's hard to remember)

    Team "Skins" - Squad 3
    1. Pfeil2281 - Squad Leader
    2. DaBrit
    3. Daithi1
    4. FYAH29
    5. Jakaleel
    6. Nuckj

Our squad had a nice mix of members from three in-house squads, the Irregulars, 9th MID and 21st TCIU. I had the privilege of leading the group, Jakaleel served as our Support, FYAH29 was tasked with Engineer, while DaBrit, daithi1 (“BigD“) and nuckj rounded out the squad as Assaults. Our task for both rounds was to help in the assault of the Power Generator flag and deal with the enemy’s Battlewalker.

    Round 1

I held on for dear life in the back of the FAV, as all three Squad Leaders rushed to Power Generator. About 50 meters short of the flag, I hopped out and had my squad spawn on me. Everyone immediately fanned out and helped capture the Control Point. Once the PAC flag flew uncontested, we set out eyes on the EU Battlewalker. Our Commander was on top of things, however, and quickly took it down with an EMP strike and orbital.

We dug in behind the flag and setup a makeshift defense to support our comrades closer to Junkyard. Everyone kept vigilant with their spots and we were able to help thwart an eastern push on the flag. Shortly after, we noticed several enemy troops trying to cross the catwalk above the barge between Junkyard and Eastern Dock, so we swung north and closed the massive group in a crossfire.

Suddenly, we received orders to push out and attack Junkyard. I had everyone rally on me and we headed toward the flag, only to walk into a fresh enemy Battlewalker. Needless to say, we regrouped after the slaughter and flanked in another direction. We made some headway toward the flag, but resistance was a bit too strong to make any real push to capture the Control Point.

Our Commander shifted us back to Eastern Dock and we helped thwart a concentrated effort by our enemy to recapture the flag for the remainder of the round.

    Round 2

Our initial task went a bit too well, as we captured Power Generator without any resistance. It seemed our enemy decided to attack Junkyard off the bat, so squads were shifted quickly and we were left to defend the flag by ourselves. Things grew very quiet in our area and I think more than a few of us thought we might see no action for the round.

Boy, was I every wrong. Our Commander ordered us back to Junkyard to help recapture the Control Point. After that, we returned to Power Generator. As soon as we helped there, it was over to Eastern Dock. Without a delay, onward to Junkyard. Basically, we served as both a complimentary and distraction force for the remainder of the round.

Everyone in my squad did a great job of reacting to each new order and I applaud them for keeping up with my constant direction and redirection. We got caught in a few crossfires that virtually wiped us out and ran smack dab into another Battlewalker, but each member kept their cool and did their job as best they could in each new situation. For a group that does not play together on a regular basis, I was delighted with our performance and had a great time leading the squad.

I like this format for the AAR for this--it's nice to see everyone else's perspectives on how the rounds went. Overall, it was a great scrim! Probably the most fun I've had on TG so far, and one of the most fast-paced matches ever! Thanks for making it great, guys.

Did anyone get a screen shot of the player scores? I forgot to look at how I did!
