Walk down the middle of the street like you are one bad mother.

As the time until the round started ticked down from 1:30 I watched the first squad form. A locked recon squad. I know reaper and company are on the other team, salivating…

I am still a bit rusty at the game and was hesitant to squad lead, but as the seconds ticked past I knew that whatever squad was going to be formed, it had to be now. I made a TG squad and threw out the net. The unlocked squad filled within seconds. Under the banner of TG, I knew greatness could be had.

It all came rushing back. Tunis, the classic shell game with its 3 flags and wonderful balance. What a perfect map. We prepared flawlessly for the initial assault on power station. One engy and one support. Support spawns in 1st and uses Fav for gunning and area ammo provision. Engy spanws in 3rd seat in the rear in case we need to make repairs or a quick flank to eastern. The capture of power went flawlessly. Voip sounded something like this:

    "IDS and ammo on flag"
    "otus deployed"
    "Mines deployed"
"contacts FAV heading to junk, FAV INCOMING!!!"
    "Engage, 3 on flag,"
"SL has otus up behind eastern fence, get rockets on that position now"
    *Wapoint goes up marking location"
    "keep grenades on that position!"
*pause as action unfolds, enemy squad members rush in to revive only to be torn apart.*

Sensing my squad was in the mood for action, I did my best to let them seek it out. Eastern and junkyard went back and forth, and our squad roamed towards the action as flags traded hands. We never strayed too far from the lynchpin that is power station.

We held power station against some wicked attacks. Each attacking squad had squad leaders with interceptors or otus which made making them priority targets an easy job. We had standing orders to take out any squad leaders and then keep constant rockets and grenades on their bodies. We lost the flag once or twice to neutral, but I held a safe overwatch around the back of southern building and we were able to quickly recap. The com use from the squad and especially how responsive they were to orders pushed me into that mental space that makes me think top gun is a great movie while I am watching it. I started having what was a highlight game for me.

As we opened up our lead, I demanded we show the enemy no quarter. We took the fight to them. I was filled with bravado and clarity. We took junkyard with blinding speed right from under their noses and then proceeded to mow down any remaining squads, as the last enemy died, we ran back to power just in time to repel the counter attack from eastern docks. I made constant use of waypoints to pinpoint the enemy squad leader positions. It was a devastating tactic that allowed us to take ground against an attacking force inch by inch as we moved from power to eastern docks. We inched forward slowly and methodically when there was cover, then as we built up sprint, we would cover open ground with men in overwatch covering.

Having a squad move like this often is only seen in a locked squad of IHS players. Even then, they all have to be on their game. During the time we were just holding ground I would explain our next orders “the 2 guys on point sprint first as we cover, when they get to the garage, they cover us. Then we conserve sprint in a tight group to cover radar sig and heal/ammo up, then we sprint to flag.

We took eastern from them by force and held it for a good time. We eventually lost it as the round wore down. The opening screen shot is from my perspective in overwatch position after I gave the following order.

“Walk down the middle of the street like you are one bad mother. Act like you own this road ‘Cause you do.”

I just wanted to thank my squad for helping me have a great TG game.

I knew exactly what this thread was about the moment I saw the title. It was a wicked round indeed. Pleasure serving under you science.

By the way, ZombieCholo (the only player without the TG tags in the squad) was nuck from the 9th.
    Fight!
