Scrimmage: |TG-9th| vs. *SFO*
Last night, the 9th Mobile Infantry conducted a friendly scrimmage with StrikeForce Ops (*SFO*). The two teams have faced off against each other on several occasions during casual play on StrikeForce Ops’ Ranked Server, but this was the first opportunity for a large scale battle between the two teams. The event was an infantry only format, though Commanders were allowed for spotting and supply purposes, and played on the Tunis Harbor map with 12 players per team.
The 9th MID fielded ten soldiers and rounded out their team with two other Tactical Gamers, Cowtipper and skullhedman. Our thanks to both for stepping up on such short notice to lend us a hand.
The scrimmage was a lot of fun for everyone involved and should lead to further events between the two teams. Footage was recorded from each round and more details should be forthcoming. Our thanks to StrikeForce Ops for hosting three fantastic rounds of competitive play.

Yeah, that was tons of fun we had there. My computer went nuts during the last round so I never finished it :/ How did it go?

They won the final round 28-0, but that isn't all of the story. It started at 1:50. Squad Alpha hunkered down to hold Junkyard as Squad Bravo kept assaulting Easter Docks. Even with the sustained assault going on, we took another 22 tickets away from them before 1 of us finally fell for the final time. Junkyard was nuts. We never had a chance to leave before wave after wave of assaulting forces would cross the barge. At one point ZWood and I stood on the Northern end of the train just chucking nades behind the building to the East getting kill after kill. SFO took us based on initial bleed. All in all it was a blast, and I hope to play them again. I'm sure *SFO* Cleavis would like his tags back.

Yes, it was indeed a fun night. Between rounds the server crashed leaving us without VoIP for the final round. I'm not sure about everyone else, but I had trouble keeping comms going since I kept pressing the VoIP key instead of the TeamSpeak key. I'm sure SFO had the same thing to deal with.
The first round was intersting. They decided to go all out and assault us. We basically kept swinging our squads between the two flags with the least resistance ensuring that we had bleed for the vast majority of the round.
For the next two rounds, SFO kept up a solid defense and beat us to Power Station by seconds. They then dug in and put out beacons, making it even harder to dislodge them from the flag as they kept spawning on both.
In the third and final round, they took us off our second flag and then mass assaulted our final flag, trapping us into close quarter combat on the Junk Yard flag. One of our squads finally managed to break free and take Eastern Docks in the final minutes of the round, but by then we were down to one ticket and they had 50 or so. We held them at bay for a good few minutes chipping their tickets down little by little until they decided to focus their attention on one spot.

Rather than post an actual AAR (I don't know if this is cool or not,) I'm going post a VAAR, or Video After Action Report.
That is, I'll be posting my WeGameVids of each round in multiple parts. So, aside from seeing "You've been critically wounded." about a hundred and fifty times during the videos, you can see the action (and how intense it was) from ground level.
The 9th did an awesome job, and I have to thank them for bringing me a long for the fight. At times I felt like I was in way over my head (I think we all remember the guy who downed four people with a Voss at once, Maverick24?) but it was a ton of fun. Thanks again, guys!
Again, split into multiple parts because WeGameVid has a small upload limit. Each round is about 19 - 22 minutes in length. Unfortunately, because I'm having a lot of problems with my DIVX codecs, I had to upload it to YouTube. So quality sucks. As well as my soundcard, which has a 2 - 3 second delay in what happens in the vid, and what is heard.

Final Score: 9th MID - 34, *SFO* - 0

My favorite part in round 1:2 is the reaction to me getting accidentally TK'd - "Oh! MY! GOD!.........What happened?"

Nice post skull! Thanks for the footage of that round. It was the first time I have SLed in a competition type game so it's great to be able to critique myself. I had alot of fun playing in this scrim. Thanks to Skull and Cowtipper for filling out the team. And thanks to Lorax for doing such a great job commanding for us.

Re: Scrimmage: |TG-9th| vs. *SFO*
It was a blast to say the least, even though we had some interesting technical difficulties at the start of round three (best of three rounds) it was certainly a lot of fun and very entertaining.
The Strike Force Ops folks were gracious hosts and represented themselves well. We certainly hope to have the opportunity to play them again in the near future and if possible open the event to all TG members.|TG-16| DaddyOfThree

I had a blast! It was nice to play someone outside of TG for some friendly competition. The rounds were fast paced and seemed like we always had people assaulting from multiple directions. Thanks to SFO for hosting! Im looking forward to then next match!
