Re: Shockwave week 1 - post match
Good game gentlemen. Don't forget to nominate outstanding players for ribbons.
I think the highlight of the match was my squad destroying EU's four consoles and all of a sudden, 20 people spawning on their titan. We just huddled in a titan coridor like little girls until EU figured out we weren't going to come after them. By that point though, it was too late: the manpower EU took off ground allowed us to get ahead on the silos.
(That would be official highlight: unofficially, Lyra and me teabagging EU's destroyed consoles while five people watched from inside of their core room. A titan match should not be that much fun. Lyra and I giggled like little girls for a full minute.
On that note: how about we turn on BattleRecorder on the server please?Fight!

Re: Shockwave week 1 - post match
I know it looked like we (Lyra and I) were goofing off, but there was a method to our madness.
I was the SL and I knew as soon as we blew your 4th console, your CO would send at least two squads to defend the core.
At that point, I ordered everyone in my squad (our squad was the only one assaulting the EU titan) off the titan and assaulting silos.
Lyra and I stayed up there to cause panic and put five+ people from your team off the silos. This allowed the rest of the people in my squad to easily capture two silos while your CO figured out what was going on.
Distract and backstab. Works every time.Fight!

Re: Shockwave week 1 - post match
After our shields went down we returned to our Titan. EU hit our hallways in force. At one point I asked our SL "should we try to get some extra help up here?", when it looked like they had spawned 6 or more on our decks. Turns out the four of us held up and refused to allow them access to "our" corridor. We then used Zhohar's distraction to send 3 of our squad to grab the un-defended silos and pull a quick swap before returning to our position just in time to stop a last ditch effort on our consoles. Fun match and unless I saw incorrectly EU had the early lead on our Titan shield.

Re: Shockwave week 1 - post match
NIce game guys! Thanks to Rasta, bigeye and mdfubar for organising, and Rage for helping out with all the silly ban-stuff before the match!
Our squad and team had a lot of fun and were doing great until the raid on the titan came. We managed to rush back and stop it, but it was already too late.
After the raid my squad, a four man squad, defended the titan, and i knew you guys were just taunting us outside in fewer numbers when the recon runs in the core room started
But alas it was too late anyways. I think my team realised that.
But anyway, it was fun and i look forward to the next and revenge!

Re: Shockwave week 1 - post match
Firstly to the EU team, well played and hard luck chaps. You fought bravely and very hard indeed.
I wasn't looking forward to this match when I found out it was Titan. I haven't played that mode enough.
On the other hand, with some last minute changes due to people not showing up I was moved to Titan defence squad. Ooooooh I say!!! Great fun and I gotta say well led by Jakaleel. As someone almost completely new to Titan (certainly new to "tactical titan") the directions given were spot on EVERY time. I have never seen 4 people hold a Titan corridor without giving any more than a brief glimpse of our positions!
A big thank you, firstly to my squad mates...Jakaleel (SL) and squad members FYAH29 and TAKK. An excellent round lads, well played.
To the rest of our team, it sounds like the EU plan to take the first round in "OUR" Titan was.....adventurous! A big slap on the back for you all, well done!
And finally to our CO........
An awesome plan, awesome execution and an awesome win. An AWESOME night was had. I fear that we may need to have you CO again. Well done my friend.
On to the next match then, my smiles should be gone by then.

Re: Shockwave week 1 - post match
Well, I spent much of the match drinking a beer and scanning the skies for transports and gunships. Then all hell brole loose and we got attacked at our silo, over-run once only to get it back. At one point I sat in an APC under the overhang and killed every soldier that jumped off of the roof, even shot down a gunship with mortars! HA! That was fun.
Great match and well played by eveyone! See you on the next battlefield!

Re: Shockwave week 1 - post match
I know what you mean. It was pretty boring at Silo 4 for a while. Spent most of the round watching the battle unfold at Silo 3 (I think) on my mini map.
And I must say, that defense my squad put up on that corridor was a masterpiece. Great planning!
They couldn't get near the hallway, much less inside to throw an accurate grenade or get off rockets. If that would've been ranked, it would've been Titan Defense Pins galore for our squad.
That was one of the best rounds of Teamwork I've ever seen. Everyone did their job, and everyone helped to contribute for the win.
From the Squads taking silos, Zhohar and Lyra's 'antics', to the fierce defense put up on the PAC Titan. Well done indeed!Proud to have served in the 9th MID and 11th AIR

6. Execution Plan:
SQ 1 & 2 use the airtransport and move to silo 1. As soon as the silo is caputred SQ 2 builds a defends perimeter at silo 1. SQ 1 stays put first and waits for CO-signal to move to silo 2 (best way will be given by CO).
SQ 3 & 4 move to silo 4. As soon as the silo is caputred SQ 3 moves out to capture silo 3. SQ 4 builds a defends perimeter at silo 4 and is on stand by in case our titan shield drops. SQ 3 builds a defends perimeter at silo 3.
As soon as the enemy titan shield is down SQ 1 moves to attack the enemy titan. If it turns out to be suicide ("aisle granate spamming") request new orders!

3. *our titan shield drops* move to our titan immediately!
EU CO PLAN
FILING DATE: Saturday, March 15 @ 0:00 EST
BATTLE DATE: Sunday, March 16 @ 16:00 EST
2. CO Name: Shurikane
MAP: Shuhia Taiba - Titan Mode
Shuhia Taiba will offer a good glimpse into both teams' capabilities. They start on equal footing, with a map that gives them both similar opportunities. The introduction to the campaign is a rough one, but it will be decisive in whether the team will want to pressure the enemy with further Titan standoffs, or prefer another method of fighting.
MISSION & MAIN EFFORT:
The team is tasked with the capture and protection of silos, followed by a swift, all-out attack on the enemy Titan.
The main effort of this mission will be to capture and hold at least three silos out of five.
Squads & Objectives:
At the time of writing, the EU team is composed of 10 persons, not including the CO. Squads will have to be slightly downsized in order to assure proper coverage.
SQUAD NAME (MAXIMUM NUMBER) --- SQUAD TYPE --- OBJECTIVE
ALPHA (4) --- Armor/Anti-Tank --- Vehicle & airborne interdiction
BRAVO (3) --- Infantry --- Silo capture
GUNSHIP (2) --- Gunship --- Airborne interdiction
CHARLIE (3) --- AT/SpecOps --- Silo blockade & UCB demolition
NOTE: If there are not enough players who wish to use the gunship, Gunship squad will be disbanded, and Charlie will form in its place.
EXECUTION PLAN
This plan will be broken down into two phases.
Phase one incorporates the beginning of the map, until either Titan shield goes down.- ALPHA is to seize silo 1 and monitor for inbounds from silo 3 using the battlewalker. They must prevent the enemy from passing through the middle of the map. Alternative: Should this execution fail, switch to capture of silos 3 and 4 at the SL's discretion.
- BRAVO is to capture silos 5 and 2 and trap them in preparation for enemy invasion.
- GUNSHIP is to pilot the gunships and intercept enemy air transports. One is to house the SL and gunner, the other a pilot only.
- CHARLIE is to capture and hold silo 4, and pester the enemy's assets.
Phase two begins as soon as either shield goes down.- ALPHA is to attack the enemy Titan, or keep going at their current objectives until the enemy shield falls.
- BRAVO is to primarily defend our Titan. If the EU team holds the advantage, attack the enemy Titan until our shield falls below 25%.
- GUNSHIP retains the same objectives, with emphasis on Titan to Titan patrol.
- CHARLIE is to supplement the attack spearheaded by ALPHA on the enemy Titan.
MANEUVERS (FIRST PHASE)
Alpha
1) Using the air transport, travel to Silo 1.
2) Anticipate the battlewalker spawn and motion-mine it (especially if the enemy shows up first.)
3) Mine the north and east entry points to the silo.
4) Travel towards Silo 3, and drop additional mines along the two paths leading up the hill (these will supercede the mines previously planted, as per game mechanics.)
5) Hold position close to Silo 1, and seek easy captures of Silo 3.
The idea: The enemy must not pass your point by ground.
Bravo
1) Using both FAVs, travel to Silo 2 and capture.
2) Lay down clusters of motion mines close to the silo in expectation of enemy air transport landings.
3) Take the tank.
4) Defend Silos 2 and 5, with Silo 2 in priority.
The idea: Keep both silos away from enemy hands.
Gunship
1) At the very start, hunt down the enemy air transport at all costs.
2) Establish a patrol between Silos 3 and 5. Prioritize airborne interdiction.
The idea: Prevent enemy air transports from reaching the three western silos.
Charlie
1) Hold spawn until Silo 1 is captured.
2) Spawn at Silo 1
3) Using the FAV, travel to Silo 4 while keeping a low profile.
4) Capture Silo 4
5) Set up ambushes and mines at Silo 4.
6) Travel to enemy base and bombard assets.
The idea: Annoy and pressure the enemy into thinking we are on their very doorstep.
MANEUVERS (SECOND PHASE)
Alpha
1) Before the phase begins, anticipate the fall of the enemy Titan shield and bring up an APC/air transport as needed.
2) Board the enemy Titan. Split up and destroy both lower consoles. Attack the upper consoles only after the lower ones have been destroyed.
3) Alpha has priority on the Titan core.
The idea: Be swift! The enemy is unlikely to have prepared its defenses in advance, so you must work on bringing all four consoles down as quickly as possible and fortify yourselves in the core.
Bravo
1) Before the phase begins, anticipate the fall of the enemy Titan shield and bring up an APC/air transport as needed.
2) Set up a defensive blockade in one, and only one corridor.
3) One person in the squad will hide in the cargo bay and intercept enemy infantry to ease pressure on the corridor group.
4) Alternative: If the enemy shield falls and our shield is above 25%, supplement Alpha's invasion.
The idea: We do not have enough people to assure defense on both sides of the Titan. Consider one pair of consoles as lost, and work on the two that remain.
Gunship
1) Switch your patrol from Titan to Titan.
The idea: The enemy air transports and APCs must not reach us!
Charlie
1) Before the phase begins, anticipate the fall of the enemy Titan shield and bring up an APC/air transport as needed.
2) Supplement Alpha's invasion on the enemy Titan. Prioritize the supply of health and ammunition.
3) Secure the cargo bay and the area behind the core (hide in the slopes that lead to corridors 1 and 2.)
The idea: Alpha must survive! Keep them alive and well-supplied with demopacks.
SPECIAL NOTES:
CAMPAIGN NOTE- Since we are but a small team as of now, we are to favor quick and mobile squads, at the cost of reinforced armor deployment. Make heavy use of FAVs and play on agility.
PERSONAL NOTES ON THE CO'S STYLE:- Silo 5 is within pod distance. I will personally capture it at the start of the match.
- The Titan will be moved close to Silo 2.
- Depending on the status of Titan defense, I may be forced to momentarily suspend my duties in order to protect a console for the greater good.
- If time is critical, I am able to personally drive and deliver a vehicle to a squad - especially APC from a silo, or air transport from a Titan.
TITAN MATCH NOTES- Don't get caught in a meatgrinder. If the enemy Titan is impenetrable after a few attempts, leave it alone.
- In Titan mode, if we have the advantage, it is a good idea to precipitate the match by silo-hopping using an air transport of FAVs.
- A missile launches immediately upon a successful capture - no matter what happened before. There is a loophole: losing the silo and re-capturing it means you can launch missiles faster than scheduled. If the enemy comes in and you know you can easily win against them, wait for them to neutralize the silo first.
- Remember that APCs are spawn points to whoever used them last. Board APCs on sight to ensure the spawn belongs to us.
SPECIAL NOTES ABOUT SHUHIA TAIBA TITAN- Silo 1 is not the be-all end-all of the match. Do not recklessly attack it, and be sure to know the alternative paths around it if it gets captured by the enemy.
- The battlewalker is disadvantaged into footing long distances from silo to silo. It is unlikely it will travel far from Silo 1. Soldiers will religiously avoid contact with it here, so use this to your advantage. In reality, the battlewalker's power over this map is more psychological than practical, but it is a very good way to annoy passing enemy air vehicles.
- The battlewalker is a gunship magnet here. Keep your heads up.
- There is a shallow across the river west from Silo 4. Crafty FAVs will use this route to reach silos 2 and 5.
