Shockwave week 3 - post match
Well fought again on both sides. EU did a great job early of holding Com Center, but repeated attacks East and West by PAC turned Com into a pressure cooker. A lucky live beacon placement north of the flag enable us to neutral the flag and pull the capout. Post your thoughts / reviews of the round. Great fun as usual, cya next week.

Re: Shockwave week 3 - post match
I had the pleasure of watching the pac team rocket the hell outta the other team and vice versa, I was watching jazy2 play and it looked like real good fun, I especially liked how jazy2 parachuted on top of another team mate and killing him but not able to revive the poor chap, that was funny....

Re: Shockwave week 3 - post match
That was the MOST fun ever!
Unfortunately for me I was booted out a good bit into the game and had to restart
I only mention this as we would have been top squad overall and the leadership of Zhohar deserved the top spot for his squad (I know it's not about points but he deserved it).
Another super week in shockwave tourney. Kudos to Rasta for a super-duper-deadly concept!
Well done to our opponents and our team......well played all!!!
I can't wait for the next installment. Choose wisely..we are coming for EU!
Parachute kills FTW!!!

Great battle everyone. It was a hard faught victory and great tactics were used by both sides.
Also, Daithi, you did a great job commanding for the PAC team. Great communication to your squads of what the EU team was doing, and what you wanted us to do to counter. Also, great job on letting us know which assests you had available and when the next UAV, Supply Drop, etc., was coming.
Can't wait for Battle 4! I wonder if the PAC can go 4-0 or if the EU can start a rally?!Proud to have served in the 9th MID and 11th AIR

Re: Shockwave week 3 - post match
I had the distinct pleasure of observing this too. No less, both of them were my SMs. I got a good laugh out of it

Great round all around. I especially want to highlight daithi because he did an absolutely wonderful job of commanding -- his intel and orders were spot on and really helpful. I think the SMs may have found the TS chatter a bit too much, but as a SL, I absolutely loved it. The level of co-ordination among our team was one of the highest I've seen on TG. daithi was absolutely on the ball and the win was definitely earned and well deserved.
Probably the crux of the fight happened after the Command Centre/Roadblock stalemate ensued. Daithi had Meatwad's squad push Northeast of Command Centre to draw the EU defenders out of position. At the same time, he had mine and Fubar's squads attack from Southwest. We were up by 60 tickets and even if the entire push had failed, we would have been only down by 11 tickets.
Meadwad's decoy worked like a charm -- Command Centre fell and was secured. But that's not the whole story.
We had two squads pushing on the southwest: Fubar first, me second. When Fubar was almost at Command Centre, I was just on the southwestern hills, near the Rorsch. At that point, daithi told me to send a couple of my guys back because he noticed some people on Roadblock. I saw that Meadwad and Fubar had things well under control at Command Centre and Roadblock just smelled of trouble, so I ordered everyone in my squad to fall back to Roadblock.
Now, the prudent thing to do at this point would have been to attack Command Centre with Fubar, capture it and let EU take Roadblock. With their assets out of the way, and us on higher ground, and with a 30-50 ticket lead, the round would have surely been ours.
But ... [strike]love[/strike] capout was in the air, and I decided to let Fubar and Meatwad handle Command Centre and order my guys down to Roadblock. That turned out to be just right: we met superfast's squad (I believe) on Roadblock flag, nervous probably because his team had just lost Command Centre and were about to be capped out. After a furious fight on Roadblock, they captured the flag. None of their people spawned in, though, and my squad was still alive and kicking on the flag. Fubar came down to help us out and after a brief fight, we recaptured the flag. At that point, EU was captured out and had two men alive. Soon after, much cheering and happiness occurred in the PAC TS channel
Had daithi not told us of the squad on Roadblock, the round would have been a lot longer, and our win would not have been as certain. Aye, once again, great commanding by daithi, in all respects.
Great game to everyone. Looking forward to Battle 4 next Sunday.Last edited by Zhohar; 03-31-2008 at 12:03 AM.

Re: Shockwave week 3 - post match
Good game everyone! Thanks to bigeye for stepping up as CO for us, i felt my skills would be better of use in the field. Also thanks to Arithea, spiff and others who stepped up and helped EU with the roster.
My squad was arithea and ionpig. We were tasked with defending roadblock initially which was a success. But we lost south town very fast and that set us back 30 tickets or so. Shortly after there was sneaky buggy attack west on command where we took out the whole 21st crew with a couple of nades on the flag (cough...awesome...cough)
But the distraction caused us losing roadblock. The team dug in hoping to gain kills and tickets of the pac attack on command. That didn't work, we lost the rocket war it seemed. We couldn't sit around sniping each other to death for 300 tickets more either, so bigeye wisely put us on the attack for some fun!
My squad waited for the right gap and we got past down to south town. We almost capped it had it not been for daihiti's nicely timed OS. ionpig had to leave so me and arithea went on a couple of raids on roadblock after that, but we were wiped by the good defence of Zohar's ids shotgun combo and other fun episodes. As a last attempt squad 2 reinforced us with their 3 members. Right at that moment a big push came on the command west side and i ordered us down to roadblock on the east. The flag went slowly up (we were a bit disorganised because of the attack on command and squad-joining), but we got it. Sadly PAC took command and we were also quickly overhelmed at roadblock for the capout.
I'm happy with my squad's performance, very good job everyone.
And i though our CO and squads did a great job too. We were simpy out-classed and out-gunned by the pac.
Congrats to the pac team

About that parachute incident, being the one jazy fell on, I at first looked around to see who had killed me so efficiently. Then I heard a 'sorry ' over VOIP and realized what had happened. LOL

Re: Shockwave week 3 - post match
I only have two words : Awesome game!
I was commander for EU (Because they didn't have one 1 hour before the battle nore a plan) and came up with a simple plan and squad layout within ... well ... 15 mins!?! All my SQs performed great! But the PAC well they were simply hard to push back!
Hope to see you all again on battle 4!
