Comments on the Pasword Night: Fri July 18th

Post your own comments, highlights, and impressions.

Best moment of the night, without a doubt, is capping EU out on Berlin. Order of events:
    1. Wave (my CO) says: "The only way to win this is by capout."
    2. I'm walking north of Square -- 27 : 50-some tickets.
    3. I say: "All assault medics please -- CO is right, the only way to win this is by capout. Let's go North for Outpost."
    4. We push in, Bomber and Spiff try to stop us -- we are UNSTOPPABLE.
    5. I die on Outpost flag, Repaq pulls the revive (act of God or 21st hacks -- you decide), flag is neutral, I'm running around, how am I still alive, what the heck is Az doing how are we still capping this, flag is still netutral, spawn in on me, go for flag, THEY CAN'T SPAWN, flag is ours, people are screaming wildly, I knife the CO ... it was all a blur.
I have to say, without a doubt, I cannot even put into words what kind of a moment that was.

Second best moment: the fight at Eastern on 16p Verdun Inf. Only. People in my squad were literally screaming for a full five minutes. It felt like an eternity. I have no idea how I stayed alive, how we capped the flag, how all of that happened. It was one of the most intense gaming moments on TG. I've been in some intense fights in BFCL and TWL scrims -- this is right up with the best of them. We were hanging on by a thread for our lives at every step of the way. Outnumbered, outgunned, the terrain not in our favour -- how we managed to cap eastern ... I am flabbergasted.

Third best moment: The Longest 40 Tickets in History of BF2142. Gibraltar, on EU, we have EU base, PAC has two walkers. Those 40 tickets must have taken a good hour or so. Hats off to PAC for cornering us like that.

The entire night was a success beyond my wildest imagination. Hats off to Lorax for organizing this. It was one of the best TG BF2142 nights I have witnessed ... ever.

I actually had two best moments.

    1. Assault lines Tampa. It was only me and Zhohar on the northern most flag. We bombed the flag with a FAV and quickly grabbed the walker. Zhohar then started emping the enemy walker and I ended up destroying it. He ended up getting killed and I hopped out of the walker and revived him. Even though we were capped out, it was still fun.
edit* I just remembered that it wasn't on PW night but still fun.

    2. Getting the silver medal on Camp Gib with a 1:1 KDR. Emping people is fun

Some intense action alright, and for the most part some dang good squadding

Didn't do so well with armor tonight, but I seemed to be pretty spot-on with Walker co-piloting, and I played Support more than I ever have and don't think I did half bad. If anything, it makes up for the fact that I ALWAYS seem to get caught (and killed) re-loading my gun, which, doesn't happen so much with that kit

Poor Heavy.... you must have thought I had it in for you tonight. -but you just kept showing up in my sights

    (heavy sigh...)

    Yeah that round was fun...

Though I remember it a bit differently. EU base fell early to the advancing PAC and Square soon to fallow. After much fighting back and forth, The EU team had Square and Roadblock with heaving fighting on both sided. Roadblock had to have changed hands about 20 times when finally the EU is able to reclaim EU base. about a minute before the end of the round The EU commander tells his team: "The only way they can win is with a cap out. We cannot let that happen!"

"Contact north side pushing on EU"

"Guys we have a squad pushing on EU get back there"

    "ANYONE THAT CAN, SPAWN EU!!!"

the rest was a blur... But I do remember people shouting "Go Commander!!!"

Then I got knifed by Zhohar... Darn you and that knife... darn you...

I'm not sure if I had a favorite moment or not, but that last round of Gibraltar was simply amazing and would have never played out like that on a regular night of gaming. It took both patience and deteremination to not push into or out of EU Base for that long.

All of the squads that I participated in were great and I look forward to the next time we do something like this.

    Forgot a couple:

Fourth Best Moment: Witnessing Dirtboy mow down a tank with a walker, maul two infantry, bail the walker, Voss an assault on my body, get the revive and hop back into the walker. This was on Baby Tampa Refinery -- I was amazed by his efficiency.

    Fifth Best Moment:
Suez Canal, normal conquest. I kept constantly attacking the PAC side and I lost us some 20-30 tickets. At about 30 tickets until round end (PAC had 50 at that point), we finally managed to capture the 3rd flag. CO says push, I tell him to hold off because bleed can win the rest and he agrees. We all hold back and bleed does indeed win it for us. Redemption!

This is definitaly what I signed up for when I joined TG,

I have to agree with Zhohar that the best moment was the cap out at Berlin, it was looking pretty bleak at the end but we still pulled it off.
For this type of gameplay it is worth staying up until six in the morning!!!

An absolutely great time last night. Thanks to all who attended.

Favourite Moment: OK, not exactly a momemnt, but squad leading 5 TG players... its such a great thing. People follow orders, you can split off a fire team, and people give great tactical and strategic suggestions.

2nd Favourite Moment: prowling through the burned out buildings west of the church on Mini-verdun, waiting for the squad to engage hostiles so I could slip around to the flank

I have another favorite Zhohar quote. "There are enemies on that flag, throw grenades. If there are friendlies there please teamkill them."

The cap out on Berlin was great! Though the last round of Gib had to be my favorite. But then there was the "Public Raid of the TG Server." We should so totally do this again really soon.

I liked Password Friday. Zoticus killed me at least 50 times. Those matches were great. Then we raided the public server and on Tampa, PAC got capped out and I was the only one left. I swear people don't listen.

It was without a doubt the highlight of the night for me... Don't think I'll forget that sequence of events anytime soon. Might be the highlight of my 2142 career.

That Berlin battle was intense and kind of heartbreaking to be on the losing side, but there are other days.

Last night was probably the most fun I've had playing 2142.

No pub players, nothing but Tactical Gamers playing 2142 the way it was meant to be played.

I think I've found my home here at Tactical Gamer. I've become a better player and have met some really great squad mates and have found the true meaning of squad play.

Thanks for the great night guys.

We needed Titan to finish it off.
