    8th Mercs Sidi Titan Scrim

To the 44+ of us that attended: great games!

Ionpig's team won both rounds: the first one by core destruction, the second one by missile hull destruction. The team COs were Reader1234 and ThaDoctah! If anyone has screenshots of round-end, post 'em here!

Post your impressions, favourite moments, discuss strategies, what worked well, what didn't turn out so well, what could have been done differently, who killed Dirtboy the most times -- you get the drift!

Thanks to the 8th for hosting a great event.

My only regret is that I could not kill Dirtboy. (just kidding)

Dirt actually served as an SL for team bacon, and as we would all expect, a did a great job. Things were a little confusing at times, but overall a lot of fun.

Though I was not a fan of the "How many team kills can we get" warm up...

To everyone in my squad who put up with someone who hasn't played regularly for months now AND was SL'ing, thank you for not getting terribly angry with me.

Heavy, Razcsak, Zoopy, Sharingan, and BZ on the second round (I think?) were tolerant enough of my screaming and wacky orders, and I thank them for that. We actually did some good that round.

Sharingan and Mech_Warrior were on me for the first round, on an ill-fated asset run.

Yeah, we got pretty walloped both rounds, but this game reminded me that 2142 isn't so bad every once in a while.

    Good rounds all!

During the halftime confusion I ended up squadless. Strangely enough I think I was more effective in the second round. Lone wolf! Oh how lonely it was....every time the CO talked to me I thought someone had joined my squad!

Nope, I didn't command. That would be ThaDoctah.

    That scrim was really fun!

    Most memorable time:

For the first round my squad was tasked to secure the northern most silo (Silo 1). After a successful capture, I noticed a lone podder. Then that lone podder ended up being an SL with 5 guys immediatly spawned on him. Needless to say we were caught with our pants down because I already had my squad setting up for a armor defense. After an intense battle on the roofs, we were overrun. Right after that, we went to the southern most silo (silo 3), and held it the entire round.

Catman did teamkill me once at the end of that round...boo!

Just a note from the command side.

On my screen it showed the enemy titan still had shields, when it did not in both games. Zhohar clearly had the better view as he hovered in a transport (Game 1)and waited for the last two missle to take the shields down. Then rolled through the corridors and into the core in record time. So a good lesson from this is to check with the squads to get their display of the enemy shields to dbl check your information.

I wasn't even aware the shields were down -- Lyra just flew the transport that way and said: "Zhohar, it's tasty, I know you want to do it!"

yeah all of the command info is messes up. It never displays squads right, the titan shields are out of sink and there have been times when it shows me I have squads that don't exist. The worst is when you look and see a squad with "6" people in it, issue an order and hear over VOIP: "Um commander... I'm a one man squad"

They really need to fix that.

My friends call me Y. My enemies call me... well, that's a secret.

I think L1ON was first place with over 200 TKs. I cannot confirm this though. We need to do this again, I'm still reeling from the back-to-back loss.
