    15. September 08 - Dual Teamspeak SL AAR

Yesterday afternoon I was setting up my Teamspeak Keybinds for 2142 General Channel, Team 1 and Team 2. I bound them to my 8 9 and 0 key.

Logging on the night after I saw Reaper in game and in the Team 1 channel - it was time to get the cross SL experiment going!

    Round 1 - Carebear - EU

We coordinated ourself over Teamspeak. I was claiming the main road and reaper Southtown. Too many people spawned on Southtown tho and Reaper´s Squad switched to Church.

We were able to hold them off till the tickets were about even. But one Buggy managed to sneak thru on the west side. My Squad was falling back to Roadbloack and noticed the enemy not being interested in Roadblock but rushing up to command.

We cleared out command flag and a beacon to the north but by that time our team lost all flags. We were sitting on comman for a while being pinned down and also having 30 tickets less than the enemy.

We talked over TS and it was clear that staying at Command was only going to make us lose. I took a buggy and drove way down towards office ruins. Even further... I drove all the way to the back of church. Apearently my little feint drew a lot of attention as Reapers Squad was able to approach Roadblock from Command. Eventually I died and led my Squad down to Roadblock together with Reapers Squad. We took the flag and were able to make up some tickets.

But we were still down by 20 tickets. We pushed down a bit to Southtown only to meet heavy resistance and being pushed back. The enemy meanwhile snuck to command center. I told Reaper on Teamspeak that we were gonna push down hard on Southtown again with these words:

"Reaper I will push down to Southtown since I expect there will be lesser skilled people there while the skilled enemies should be at command center."

Reaper agreed and we pushed down in full force to Southtown annihilating every player who still didn´t get the message that fighting uphill is bad. I was barking to my squad to hold formation and focus on revive.

Our team was down about 10 to 20. Rockets and Nades flying to Southtown. We eventually took it. I quickly followed up with the order: "Focus on church! Annihilate everything that spawns there!"

Time was passing in slowmotion but we pulled out a victory by 3 to 0 tickets.

    Round 2 - Camp G - PAC

Both reaper and me opened a Squad again. The plan we made on Teamspeak was to get into a buggy and drive to the back of harbour and put a hugh Squadbomb there.

Everything worked as planned. We drove up the hill and reaper jumped out. I somehow got killed but Reaper revived me. We now had 11 people on the back of Harbour. Surprisingly there was not much resistance.

So the next plan was made up in Teamspeak. Reaper would take the West side of Tollstation while my Squad would go East. My Squad got stuck a little due to a Sentry and Nadespam. Reapers Squad was already pushing in West. I was yelling at my Squad to push East and we pushed in.

The enemy team being totally focused on Reapers Squad on the West didn´t have much sense on what was going on East. I was able to push all the way to Ruins. We were unable to take it as too many people spawned there to block us. I was trying to survive as long as possible and by the time I went down behind ruins I looked on the minimap and the rest of our Team had already taken Toll and Central.

We were trying to set up a new plan of pushing EU together from Central but the Area was just too packed. Since we were up 30 tickets we both agreed in Teamspeak to just sit it out instead of throwing away more tickets.

It must have been around 10 minutes of Rocketspam till the EU team got restless. There got impatient and tried to push out only to lose more tickets. We won the round by around 30 tickets up.

    Round 3 - Shingle - EU

Our Plan was to take a Buggy together and go towards Columns. We failed tho and our Squads got split up. I quickly rushed the first flag and told my people to spawn in. It was bloody but eventually we got it. 1 flag down - 2 more to go till bleed would be on them. Both our Squads were working on Trenches and capped it. We were approaching Command Center but got mowed down.

I told my Squad to hold spawn and respawned in our Mainbase. I took a buggy and led my Squad to Dunestation. No resistance was there so we advanced to refugee camp. Now the enemy was only left with columns and command center having a harsh bleed on.

Me and reaper were communicating on Teamspeak again. The plan was to lock the enemy into command center. Reapers Squad would defend Trenches while my Squad would stay on Refugee Camp. Surprisingly the rest of our Team was even able to take Columns.

The enemy was totally locked into Command Center. I told my Squad to hold position. Not many kills were made and many of the Rocket kills were revived. But the bleed worked. Earlier having been down 10 tickets we were now up by 20.

Eventually the enemy took back Trenches with their Walker but our plan to lock them to a few flags worked out and we won.

    Summary:

Cross SL communication is FUN. Hugh FUN! It brings the game to a whole new level of coordination and lets you build plans involving more people than ever before.

Stop being lazy SLs and set up your Keybinds today!

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Lyramion again.

It's nice to see how SL-SL communications leads to great teamwork without necessarily leading to blowout games.

The other team had some famous face and many TG players. Carebear was commanded by June. Without SL to SL com we would most likely have lost

At least from the looks of it, if both sides are using this the games are fair. Nice work.

You mean Günther and the sunshinegirls?
His capacity for love lost, the man accepts it into his glas of dispair. The Flames of burning anger unquenched, the man keeps drinking... but never gets drunk
