Re: 29/10 The Great Stalemate of Cerbere
Well, here is how it went down:
We got the call to squad up and head for the strong-hold, Command Center. I quickly gathered my members of the 21st(Fyah, Kaiser, and Rivenguard) and recruited Dr.Beat and JoePalooka to fill in my gaps. Explaingin our goal I gave them the opportunity to leave the squad, yet they stayed. I picked up my Shotgun, Spanky, Sentry, IDS, and dropped down to light armor. We where going to rush Command and I knew that it would be close quarters and we would need ammo.
As we left the landing and headed for Command, I realized we need to set up a post at Ruins and get some communication rolling. No resistance? We pushed west, I told them we would take South Town and proceed with caution, then it happened......a window of opportunity. Squad 1 had broken thru and was heading for Roadblock, I decided that this was our chance and we headed straight for Command.
We encountered little resistance and I set up on the west side of Command, ordering the squad to take control of the upper floors. I don't know where the reinforcements came from, but they came......in force! We battled it out for as long as we could, the fight was bloody, gunfire was everywhere and then....I woke up at a medic station on Roadblock with my squad looking at me.
We pushed again with a coordinating attack, we went east and another squad went west. We where beat back and then we decided that it would be better to pull back and fight on our ground. They clearly had the advantage of high ground and better cover.
I repeatedly called for orbital strikes to try and weaken the enemy's positions. The orders came from the CO that we where to hold, but squad 3 kept pushing. After a short conversation with the CO, we determined that it was best to remove that squad leader from the battle. As the MP's took him away, he was killed by a stray bullet from a sniper........labeled as a KIA.
I spread my squad with orders to make sure no one dies and keep the rockets going into Command. I could barely keep up with the screams for ammo. I was becoming a very long battle. The enemy CO dropped two orbitals on our position, we where too clustered. I told my squad to follow me to the western ridge, we could get a better vantage point and fire into the compound.
As we where on the ridge one of my members stated that the rockets where being ineffective as we couldn't gauge the distance thru the trees. I instructed Rivengaurd, our sniper, to range the wall and call it out. From our distance my load-out was not useful for killing. Clearly out of range for the LMG and the Clark RDX, I resorted to keeping everyone supplied and grabbing a Scar when I could. Then I realized that I had been here before, " the range is 80 meters, vary your distance between 80 and 100 meters". Bingo! We started getting kills, then like a big X on my back..........Not one, two, but three Orbitals on my squad! This is getting personal now!
"Keep them contained!", "No one Dies on this ridge!"
Alas, we couldn't break thru and the orders came from above to clear out and retreat. We live to fight another day.
Later I found that the enemy commander was someone with a name of Eroak, We will meet again!
Good Job to every soldier in that battle!

Re: 29/10 The Great Stalemate of Cerbere
That was such an amazing round. ^_^ I haven't had so much fun in one of Zho's squads since we were defended Harbor on Camp G.
Those assaulting the eastern side of Command Center learned (after I got my distinguished Combat award ^_^) to put rockets on my Rorche quickly. I had around 17-18 kills with it.
Thanks for the awesome game, everyone!
