29/10 The Great Stalemate of Cerbere
What a game!! Shortly after the Server Crashed Cerbere loaded again. Some people had trouble with VOIP and things so the start was messy and a chaos.
Under 100 tickers EU was pushed back to the Command Center. It got really clsoe around 50 tickets where every single ticket was a war for itself.
Rockets got exchanged
Grenades thrown
Bodies camped
Soldiers revived
It was beautiful. The final 20 tickets lasted ages and ages. Every little error someone made got punished. Many got revived but some ultimatly died. EU won the round after a nailbiter by 6 to 0 tickets.
Here the Fraps Pictures I took:

Re: 29/10 The Great Stalemate of Cerbere
Very fun round.
I came into the round, VOIP broken. Reconnected twice, reloaded game, and then it finally worked. By this point, EU was pretty much on the verge of capout -- we barely held South Town, and we had people on Command.
I joined AB's squad, but he dropped due to VOIP issues (many people had VOIP issues that round), and I became SL of the Assets squad.
I ignored South Town, and focused on defense of Command. We were down 20 tickets, and we were facing a capout -- I first made sure the flag at Command was clean, and then concentrated on holding back. Eroak had my back as CO, and we had Ano in the other squad. We hunkered down inside of Command, fighting over every ticket.
For 70 tickets, everyone's eyes were on defibs and camping dead bodies. It was so tense. The lead changed hands with each rocket volley.
In the end, we won by 6 tickets.
Many thanks to Torres for pushing up with the walker a couple of times and giving us a ticket each time.
Fight!

Re: 29/10 The Great Stalemate of Cerbere
It was a fast mess up the west flank by PAC. They took to the Command Center in the first 2 minutes of the landing. We couldn't make any orginized defence until I finally got a 2nd squad to clear the Command Center of the infiltration. Then the last south radio went dead and no more comms came from the beachhead. The Command Center became the last alamo, hold the wall at all costs. Stay inside the bloody walls and make them pay for evey bullet, make them chew every peice of shrapnel. The ground became chewed and muddy with metal. Tracers lit the sky brighter then new years. The young men held with nerves fragile. It was this moment we were tested to our finest skills. They showed true dicipline and won by nights fall. PAC retreated to the ships. It was a mess, in a hour the beachhead was red with the spoils of war and the blood of our borthers. We didn't win in the commanders eyes. We paided a hefty price and it's another batch of tags to central command. They'll soon forget who died here...but I wont.
The soldier formerly known as, Eroak.

When it comes down to that kind of standoff it's individuals that win or lose the game.
I came in at the very tail end of the battle but I noticed PAC had a problem with certain squads and individuals wanting to charge into the EU meat grinder repeatedly, despite our commander's repeated attempts to tell everyone to stay back.

Re: 29/10 The Great Stalemate of Cerbere
We were down a LOT of tickets, was amazing to see how our EU squads actually all held back and played it smart. My squad was on the west wall containing them and rocketing the crap out of anything that moved. I eventually was able to jump up onto a roof and get a good sniping position, and was able to see straight down the western ridge and get Lustiano to rocket them when they went for revives.
Amazing round guys!

Re: 29/10 The Great Stalemate of Cerbere
It was certainly a battle for the ages... the comms failure made it all the more challenging and difficult. It took quite a while before we were able to locate Lyramion and slow his grenade throwing olympics (we weren't able to stop him, just slow him). Without comms the lemmings threw themselves straight into the meat grinder. Pleas in team chat went unanswered and largely ignored. In the end the few veterans on the PAC side could do nothing to stem the ticket loss as PAC threw away (as far as I can recall) a 20-30 ticket lead.
Great game though!|TG-16| DaddyOfThree

Anospa was a pain for my squad holding the western ridge of Cerbere. He pretty much had us on a lock-down with his sniper rifle until I finally saw his silhoette lurking behind the commander asset. What joy to finally shoot him down... haha

Re: 29/10 The Great Stalemate of Cerbere
I joined halfway through the round and the first thing I heard from Zhohar was "everybody stay back......no pushing, keep up revives..."
This was repeated many times in the round and when the dust finally settled I was amazed to see I had not lost our team one single ticket! All down to smart play....staying clear of danger for the most part, only venturing in to revive the few people who had managed to stray too close to something that could easilly be ranged for rockets! (Mainly the tower by the Rorsche on the main road to command.)
Poncherello also manged to stay death free.

I remember prone sliding down the road to stick my defib up Guardians behind and asking myself "WTH is Guardian doing here" just followed by jumpng down the hill to the east and fiding dead Unload there in a bigger wtf moment "How the hell did HE get here".

Re: 29/10 The Great Stalemate of Cerbere
That was a very excellent round! I think the most hilarious moment was when the EU commander dropped a supply drop over roadblock. My SL Fubar quickly yelled "WATCH YOUR HEADS!" and scurried away. Unfortunately one poor soul was boxed, one more ticket down...
