Re: You can always tell a TG squad by how fast it fills up
I figure if people are willing to join a "schmuck" squad they get what they deserve.

Re: You can always tell a TG squad by how fast it fills up
All it takes is a couple of good people in your squad and it seems to gel. The other day I had to create a squad and gathered a couple of pubbies and a couple of TG'ers, only one of which was being the least bit helpful and I'm sorry to say it wasn't a TG guy. I had to boot one or two guys but more joined in, one of them was Arithea. I warned her right off the bat that this squad was "a loose squad, to say the least" and she, surprisingly, stuck around. From then on the squad seemed to come together more and we actually managed to be somewhat effective in achieving our objectives.

Re: You can always tell a TG squad by how fast it fills up
I used to be a lurker myself, often spamming the join button or waiting for an empty slot. I got tired of waiting for a TG squad to open up, and decided to make my own. This happened some time ago, so whenever there's a minute left on the server time, I make my own squad if there are no other options. Lately, I seem to be having a modicum of success.

I agree that pubbies are hard to control. You have to speak sternly and clearly, kind of like Zohar. It works, I promise you. If it doesn't warn, kick, and in extreme cases, lock.|TG-Irr|Adaxa

Re: You can always tell a TG squad by how fast it fills up
I just finished playing in your squad a few times. It was cool. When pretty much every TG squad nowadays is locked and by invite only it's always refreshing when someone else takes the initiative. I usually avoid the squads of SL's that make a habit of locking their squad.

Re: You can always tell a TG squad by how fast it fills up
I usually wait till close to the end of the timer to decide whether I want to start one or not. It's usually open though. I understand those SLs that lock their squads cause they get fed up with some of the folks who join a squad cause they have to but don't help in any way.

Look at these people as an opportunity to show them how to properly squad up and the tactics to win. I often find that when you provide direction, they start to help out.

I say talk them through it, since that is in the spirit of TG. If they don't come around let them know why and then kick them. A few kicks and even if they are not listening but appreciate the game play in TG servers they will probably start to come around by noticing the difference between the TG squad and the non-TG squad and seek the TG squads now with a more informed outlook. Those are the people that will eventually wear TG tags well and proudly, maybe even become supporting members.

Re: You can always tell a TG squad by how fast it fills up
I like to lead squads on an odd day when my 3rd SFD homies are not on (or are on the other team, and I tend to have my squad fill up fast with assorted people. The pubbies come of all skill levels and mindsets. Like yesterday I had a game where me and my pubbie squad gave Zhohar and his TG squad a hard time on Com Tower and Playground on Belgrade. And earlier last week, I nearly lost it when my squad couldn't stay together and didn't have the kits I requested.

TG IHS squads fill up even faster. It's hilarious seeing a guy start up a squad, have it fill up, than almost instantly empty when they see that new squad with a |TG-xxx| as its leader.
