AAR: Feb. 14th - Fall of Berlin - Another nailbiter
Feb. 14th
Fall of Berlin
PAC Side
After briefly joining Aritheas Squad I took over the Command position.
Phase1:
Arithea cloaked to crossroad in order to spawnbomb 5 people in. I gave an orbital next to the flag to crete a smokescreen. Sadly she got hit by an unlucky Grenadebefore everyone was able to spawn in.
Our first steam was lost. Arithea somehoe d/c but Aruncado took over the Squadlead.
We tried hard to get crossroad and the bleed off. Eventually we succeeded. We were about 20 tickets down at this point. We took roadblock also but from there on it was just a hugh stalemate bewteen square and roadblock.
Phase 2:
It wasn´t up till around halfway of the game but I noticed the EU team having some good armor pilots in the walker as well as the APC. They were profiting a lot of tickets at the expense of our team. Our APC and Walker were able to survive sometime but usually got killed off anyway.
I was that going on like this would lead to our defeat. An order was being formed.
Lyramion > Aruncado: Their Armor is destroying us. We need to get Outpost or our chances are bad. Their Armor needs to be taken out of the game.
Aruncado > Lyramion: As you wish Commander !
After I gave those orders I saw Aruncados Squad and Squad 5 sprint towards Outpost. Many Squadmembers from them died but the SLs made it to outpost. I zoomed in my overview to the maximum and kept right click spotting every single one of the enemies spawning to protect Outpost.
We got the flag. The enemy walker came back but had to eat an EMP/Orbital. At this point we were still about 25 tickets down and the game was nearing its end.
Phase 3:
Now that we had Outpost it was time to make our armor count. Squad 3 took over the APC duty and I rained down supplycrates on them.
The plan was simple:
- Hold Outpost at all cost with 90% of our team and get mass revives going.
- Let our Armor shell crossroad and all the poor fools spawning on it. This would be our ticket generator. Since we were able to destroy the enemy COs tools at will on outpost our armor wouldn´t have to fear EMPs and Orbitals.
I was a bit surprised as our APC began its evil work. Squad 3 did an outstanding job shelling experiments squad and making up tickets. At the same time I was yelling at every dead unrevived body near outpost.
We were down by so many tickets. We got closer to around 20-30 tickets still in the EU teams favour. The APC doom machine continued its work while on outpost the defibs ran hot. I forgot all the orders and motivational limericks I yelled into my Squadleaders ears.
The final score was 6-0. We really made it.
GG Everyone. Halfway thru the round I had thoughts about giving up as the situation looked just too grim. But I told myself that it´s never over before the round doesn´t end. I forgot to take screenshots of the actual scoreboards. I didn´t even look at who the awesome APC Squad was and who led the other Squads. Excuse me. If anyone remembers any more awesome details of this round please add to it ! I sure commanded my butt off for that win
Bonus Commanding Tip: Right click and spotting enemies as a Commander is worth GOLD. You can zoom in all the way and be a SLs personal guardian angel for hot assaults. Or you can stay all the way out and spot out the current frontline when no UAV or sattracks are up. Whenever you are not busy putting down orbitals, UAVs or sattracks etc try spotting things in your right click menu. If there is a good squad on the ground that has the ability to work the spots into enemy positions in their brain you can basically spot enemies dead !

That was a great round indeed! Superfast and myself join the EU-team half way through the map and it didn't look that promising

That was a great game even thought I was on the loosing side.
The rush to outpost would have been alot painful for you guy if our walker didn't tk our apc (I was the apc driver). For some reason he decided to open fire on us even thought no enemy were near by... But the was a great game from the PAC side
Thx for the 3rd soldier with me for putting up with my swearing after the tk
