21st on 21st NS AAR
Great fun, thanks to all who attended. I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. I think this map is a great mix of infantry and armour Please post you thoughts on each round, or the match in general. Here are the end of round screenshots.
round 1 Jak's team 75 - Meat's team 0

round 2 Meat's team 71 - Jak's team 0

Special thanks to Austforbeer for taking on the setup!
Special thanks to Draeh for volunteering his time and for lightening fast TS channel switching!
Special thanks to Y (You) for volunteering for a much needed yet little glory commander role!
Special thanks to Silver, Zhohar, and Aust for playing SL on our side!
Most memorable moment: About 3/4 through the 2nd round, my SL (Aust) in 1st chair of Walker, I spawn in the 2nd chair. We're near the middle flag, lots of infantry about 100 yards away. I notice 1 soldier 5 yards from the Walker, moving in to get underneath (I think). My plan: I'll jump out and kill this guy with my pea-shooter while he preps with his Pilum. As I hit the ground, I realize the enemy on the ground expected me to jump out and quickly dispatches me up close and personal. I yell to Aust "LordMeatwad on the ground below, move!", to which he responds "No problem, I just stepped on him."Last edited by FYAH29; 02-21-2009 at 06:53 PM.

Thanks to the 21st and Aust esp. for setting all of this up! It was a lot of fun

Favourite moment? In the first round, assaulting Main Square, and noticing there was so much infantry and bypassing to Yard. That was a lot of fun.Fight!

Re: 21st on 21st NS AAR
Thanks Aust! Thanks 21st!
Was alot of fun, my first TG event (always seemed to be busy for previous ones). Was a ton of fun. My favorite moment was in the first round also, when me and PM were picking apart the Goliath with Sudniks as it was approaching Grand Park. Lyra ended up finishing it off the first time with a TV missile, and Mori finished it off the second time with an orbital once we got the shield packs down. Props to Harley for emp locking the Goliath once it got into the open so that we could pop out of cover safely to shoot.
The second round had it's moments too, I learned a couple new attack routes that I never really gave much thought to before that can work very effectively. Oneill, and Aumen's squad, did an amazing job of keeping that Goliath alive for as long as they did. Almost went the whole round without losing it!
Lotsa fun all around, it was good to get frosty again. =)

Re: 21st on 21st NS AAR
It was an awesome scrim. That was probably the most fun I've ever had at commanding. I found having three permanent SLs (Pred, Meatwad and Aumen) was alot more fun than commanding in normal games. Plus, there was constant communication between me and my SLs - and between me and the others on TS - so I was never bored. Indeed, I was finding personal errors and mistakes a dime a dozen those rounds. This is opposed to when I normally command and mistakes are due almost entirely to lag or me dozzing off. I also liked the fact I could enjoy a "first time map" without actually getting hammered on the ground.
My favourite moment came when one of my SLs told me to nail the other side's goliath. Having been told prior to the match that I shouldn't waste orbitals on that thing: I was going entirely on my SL's (Pred's) intel and just sent the emp/orbital off. And I swear I've never had a more proud moment than when I saw that thing explode.

Re: 21st on 21st NS AAR
You did a great job commanding, you kept enough intel flowing to us so that we could be where we needed to be, without giving too much. Besides you fixed my mistakes for me before they cost us the round the second time around =). At least twice I had my squad defending a flag that really didn't need defense, at which point you shipped us off somewhere else where I should've realized that we needed to be! =)

Re: 21st on 21st NS AAR
Excellent fun! Thanks to the 21st!
I enjoyed chasing the Goliath down the first round, but as you will see from the scores, they protected it well and I died A LOT!
Next round was far more fun, as we didn't have to worry about the Goliath, and concentrated on capping and killing (and reviving!). Yard is such a good flag to attack and defend. It got messy there several times.
More NS!!!!

Re: 21st on 21st NS AAR
I completely stunk it up in the Goliath, I do have to say though you guys did a great job frustrating the hell out of me with the EMP locks. I spent a good amount of time standing around being useless.
And yeah, stepping on Meatwad made my day. He was squishy.
