    TG-3rd vs TTP's 5th

So last night the 3rd scrimmed the Texas Team Player's 5th for four rounds in a 6 vs 6. Well it was supposed to be 6 vs 6 They ended up short a man so we played 5 vs 5. The rules were no commanders, no vehicles, no rail guns.

First map was Fall of Berlin. We started on assault, and pushed the Crossroads flag pretty hard right from the get-go. We managed a quick capture with a ticket lead, and waited a minute to see if they were going to press to try and take the flag back. They decided more to hold back, so we started pressing. What followed was 10 minutes of flag hopping as they would cap one right as we were taking theirs. They were down to one flag for a while, and then finally we wiped them out at Roadblock and got it neutral for the capout.

On defense we managed a pretty solid round, albiet far from perfect. They managed to take Crossroads, which we took back. They then managed to take roadblock. After some back and forth fighting, we forced them back to their uncap and bleed quickly ended the game from there.

The second map was supposed to be Verdun. Unfortunately one of their guys couldn't get the map to load, so we moved to Cerbere instead. They definitely picked their game up after the first two rounds, and we managed to play a lot sloppier. The first round we were on defense, and a communication mishap resulted in a recon getting behind our lines and them capping Command. We fought over the other two flags, and they caught the squad in poor position when we were on one flag and did a great job capping it to cap us out.

We then played assault, and took the first flag quickly. There was a lot of fighting back and forth, and then we broke through and took Command Center. From there we fought our way downhill, and slowly drove them back until we capped them out.

Overall they were very solid shooters, and made good use of the shotgun in close quarters. Both sides had a lot of fun, with the 3rd winning 3 rounds, and the 5th winning 1.

congratulations. good job mates! but i'm not surprised, because i saw one round of the game "3rd vs. TG-AIR". it was on belgrade.

nice to see, that you don't lift up although you are one of the best squads in this game i guess.

Great games. I'm hoping this will become a regular event (bi-weekly? monthly?) because the 5th were good sports and good competition.

    Crux and the |TG-3rd|,

It was a pleasure playing, nay competing, with yall in this scrimmage. While we wish that we'd have been a bit more successful, overall we had a blast and would certainly welcome more of these in the future.

Yall played quite well and, based on the 3-1 score, obviously gave us a tough series. We also wish that we'd have been able to run 6 v 6, but our 6th man had a computer failure (vid card) earlier that day. Thank you for continuing on with the scrimmage playing a man down.

The take away from this scrimmage for us was that scrimmages are a very different beast than what we're accustomed to. We spend much of our time in game in the full scale theater as I am sure that those of you who played in the TTP vs |TG| match recall. So this was a big change in mindset for us and it took some getting used to (or getting up to speed as the case were). You were all very accurate shots and the nades into the flag areas were really taking their toll hehe. We felt that we were close to turning the tide in the 2nd round and the 4th, but alas a very well placed grenade or three would always come arcing in.

    Good times.

Either way - I wanted to stop by. Tell you that we appreciated the scrimmage and look forward to more inter-community "outings". Thank you for being another team play oriented community.

    Regards,

Zhohar's simple orders of "everyone nade the flag before we approach!" still rings in my ears every time I'm attacking a flag full of contacts, a simple yet valuable piece of advice - after all, one frag is damaging, but when 6 are raining down on a squad it's pretty damaging.

And thanks for stopping by Alundil, always nice to see other communities/clans posting and diversifying our forums and its contents.

I think overall we had a great time and look forward to future matches. Thanks again for going 5 on 5 on short notice. I think overall doing these bi-weekly is a great idea. Just let us know if you guys want to set one up next week and we can pull things together on our side.

    Thanks,

    Turtle
