Great squad work...
My squad and I had a great round on Tunis tonight. True, the sides were slightly uneven and the game ended lopsided. But I was still very impressed by my squad's movement and sharp response time to orders.
Early in the round our team failed to take Power, and so I ordered half my squad by name to follow me across the barge and strike Eastern. Another squad was already there and encountering heavy resistence. One thing that I proudly noticed was that NeurosasN turned back when he didn't hear his name mentioned for the assault. He dropped back and guarded Junkyard with the others.
Once we secured Eastern, I ordered everyone back to Junkyard to assist in defence. After many minutes, our team eventually pushed on Power. Since I thought we would drop Eastern as a result, I ordered another fireteam over to Power to assist. Medjed, one of those not mentioned for the assault team, immediately turned around and returned to Junkyard to set up a three man defence with me and Ventari. Once we took Power, I ordered the assault team to assist at Eastern, and they complied instantly. With Jengles at command, we formed a quick defence team, with two fireteams deployed at different positions all over the map, ready to put out any fires that began.
Full commendations to the following:
Low`Brow
NeurosasN
UmbraVentari
VanGoghsKnife
Medjed
100% record of following orders by every one of them. Each one received orders to be part of a fireteam at least once that round, and not one had trouble doing so. Bravo!
P.S. And a secondary commendation to Heathen who, despite teamkilling me three times on an earlier map, was still a great addition to my squads on the other rounds!
Edit: And a commendation to Manisyd, who, while not of the teamkilling calibre of Heathen, was still another great addition to my squads on other maps!
Cheers to you all!Last edited by Memento-Mori; 03-28-2009 at 02:27 AM.

Re: Great squad work...
Was a good round for effective Squad-play. I stayed at Junk most of the time, but from my position I could see that the others performed their roles admirably.
Congratulations on effective movement to the rest of the squad (with the exception of me who fell into the water the only time I was ordered to move).

Re: Great squad work...
It's always good to see people enjoying particularly great rounds and then coming to the forums because of it. Sounds like a great round, it might have been the round where the Irregs were running a squad on EU and it was just the most catastrophic fight, none of us could shoot or stay alive for more than one minute. Pretty funny. Kyle says the next round "lets pretend that round never happened"

Re: Great squad work...
Thanks!
I've been around for a while playing with my brother, Mori, but have only recently gotten into regularly playing after fixing a few technical issues which prevented me from playing several maps.
Feel free to offer me any advice if you see me as SL or CO.

Re: Great squad work...
That was a great round...we won by more than would make it a truly brilliant round which was unfortunate, but as commander theres no better place to play than TG. I had 4 full, or nearly full squads, all following orders exactly, with input from all SLs on their status and requests.
We managed to take all 3 flags by the end, with the entire Pac team trying to regain Eastern, except for the occasional buggy rush. Having 4 squads meant my layout was currently 2 on Eastern (doing a very good job handling the entire of the Pac) and 1 on either of the other flags. So when I suggested the 2 seperate squads send people over to Eastern while leaving just a few behind each, and for them to be prepared to fall back, it was great to hear they were infact just thinking the same thing.
Upon a particular buggy rush to Power I immediately let both of them know and they came running: surrounding and squashing the attempt in a matter of seconds.
I think that round was a perfect blend of SLing and SMing, and because of that it became easy to command effectively. Although I have no idea what happened on the Pac side, maybe a TG inbalance or just an unlucky round, It happens to the best of us.
I very much enjoyed that night, I had pleanty of fun rounds: from commanding and SMing to sniping (mostly Frozen - "Someone Q-spot him!" lol Operation Shingles is a great addition to the rotation) and even SLing, a rare for me, a group of pubs following my orders well, one even leaving the previous squad we were in, to mine because of preffering my SLing, a nice compliment from him, perhaps I'll squad lead more...perhaps.

Re: Great squad work...
While we're on this thought, I just figured I'd give another shout out. Last night on Verdun I switched teams because they seemed quite unbalenced. Looking down the list of players on our team, I must say I felt a little overwelmed. The TG'ers could be counted on one hand, if that. I formed a squad with the intention of taking the far flag Hillside. My squad followed orders quite brilliantly, and when we dropped hillside, they were quick to reform on me and assist in taking Church. They also followed kit directions.
Our team won, which was very surprising given the players we were up against. (It would be wrong to name names, of course... *cough*Zho*cough*)
Here's the list of players who performed very well and considerably better than I expected, given the circumstances:

Re: Great squad work...
Haha, I remember that round. We were taking a beating at Hillside for a good while before we lost it. Without your SLing we might have lost...saved by the pity vote

Na, teams get unbalanced at times even when the number of players is fair, its nice that people switch to even them up
Thank you for a good round to all involved.

Re: Great squad work...
I must say that I was in no part apart of these rounds...but the rounds I play with TG are by far the best rounds I ever play on BF 2142. Enjoy playing with you all.

Re: Great squad work...
Lately I haven't had much time to log on and play, but gameplay on the TG server is among the best I've had in BF2142. Great organization, leadership, etc. Momento-Mori, I always have a great time in your squad and there are a handful of other squad leaders with whom I have enjoyed playing. Top notch group. Looking forward to getting back in at some point, after teamspeak is up and running on my system.
Hope to see you soon.
