BFCL Finals: 3rd vs 21st
The stage was set. The 21st had eked out a narrow win over the 9th in the semi-finals the week before, and were set to face the 3rd, who had drawn the 11th in their semi-final.
Nobody quite knew what to expect after the odd near-stalemate victory by the 3rd over the 21st in the regular season, but 16 player Verdun as the map, the action would be forced by ticket bleed. The 3rd were hosting on their server, and the 21st elected to start as PAC for the first round.

The 3rd brought Crux, AzuraRising, Unload, Pedestrian and fl1pmode to the field. The 21st were represented by LordMeatWad, Aumen, Austforbeer, Buriu and Grimmfist.
Round 1
The 3rd capped Western a hair before the 21st got Eastern, and established themselves at Church first. They drove the 21st off and capped the flag. Immediately they pressed forward and formed a perimeter enclosing Eastern, slowly advancing towards the flag. the 21st made a break on the northern side, which crux and Azura chased down and eliminated. Some more fighting and the 3rd pushed onto and capped Eastern, pushing the 21st back to their UCB. The 21st respawned with a lot of sniper kits, and started taking potshots at the 3rd. The Deathdealers made a push along the riverbank, and managed to make some progress before being hunted down and stopped. With all three flags in possession of the 3rd, the bleed was horrific and the round ended rapidly.
Score: 91-0 for the 3rd.
Round 2
This time the Thunderbolts came in as PAC, with the Deathdealers in as EU. This time the arrival at Church was closer, and some fighting took place on and around the flag. After bullets and shotgun pellets were exchanged, the 3rd took possession of the flag.
It quickly became evident that the 21st had a different strategy in mind this round. They made little effort to defend the flag they held, instead pushing all over the map to try and cap flags behind the 3rd's line. This caused a lot of running on the part of both teams, and initially the scoreline was tight. Slowly the 3rd began to pull away, with reviving and narrow bleed making the difference. As the round progressed, the Tbolts made some adjustments, expecting back flag pushes by the 21st. This extended both the bleed and ticket loss more, and the gap widened until the round ended.
Score: 69-0 for the 3rd.
In all it was a fun match to end a good season of BFCL. Although there were only 6 teams this time around, all four of TG's entries made it to the semi-finals. Kudos to the 21st for a good match, and a valiant effort especially in the second round.

Re: BFCL Finals: 3rd vs 21st
This was my first season in BFCL and how cool it was. A totally new aspect to the game for me. For me the best part of the season was the two final matches, the semi-final match with the 9th (what an awesome fight) and a great final match the 3rd.
Great AAR Curx and congrats to you and the 3rd.

This should have been a stalemate because

3 > 2 + 1 just does not compute.

Re: BFCL Finals: 3rd vs 21st
Great rounds 21st, it was a pleasure playing against you guys! You had us running all over the place that second round. I think what helped us the most was 2 IDSes, which allowed us to see where you guys were most of the time

Re: BFCL Finals: 3rd vs 21st
First and foremost let me say Congrats to the 3rd for their third (fourth?) championship in a row at BFCL. The toughest matches we've ever played always come against these guys. The 3rd manage to interchange members, week to week, and season to season, and still play collectively like 1 mind. It's a tough challenge and can be very daunting, but I relish every chance I get to prove myself and my IHS against them.
Congrats also to all four TG teams who competed this year, the 11th really made a good showing all year, continuously improving week to week, the 9th gave us our closest matches all season and showed once again what great competitors they are. TG represented very well, 4 of the 6 teams were TG, and all 4 playoff teams were TG.
Thanks to all who participated, sometimes the weekly grind of setup and administration in the league becomes a chore for me, quickly changed every Sunday night when I get to play and am reminded of how much fun this game can be, and how much I enjoy the competition brought, especially by my fellow TG members.
