Full |TG| Server on Shingle
Commanding a Server full of TGers tonight on Shingle.
Very dynamic game. Fubar protecting Command Center like his own baby. Experiment runing around for the dirt jobs. Also very nice walker driving - kept alot of enemies at bay.
Columns was hot also. Enemies intruding from below and above. held it a long time but they finally took it.
There was a short timeframe towards the middle of the game that enables us to get bleed back for abotu an 40ish ticketadvantage.
GG everyone

Re: Full |TG| Server on Shingle
Good round, for sure. I didn't kill a lot of people in the walker (as you can see I don't even appear on the scoreboard) and got some inexplicable team vehicle damage for a team score of -9 or something, but I only went down two times in the entire round and one of those times was in the stolen EU walker... ^.^
A lot of people on the enemy team spent a great deal of energy to try and bring me down, and were subsequently annhilated by infantry that moved in while they were distracted. Even killed a cloaked Zhohar once... did he end up getting revived?

By the ten deaths I'm sporting, I don't think so. I didn't enjoy myself very much during Shingle.

It was a great round and great communication from both our CO(Lyra) and my squad members. Our squad did a great job holding Command, although at times it was getting hairy!

Re: Full |TG| Server on Shingle
Yep, Command was locked down tighter than Joan River's face. We spent alot of time attacking from the East, from the West, from the North to no avail. We'd manage to stay around at the base for a bit, but just couldn't make any progress toward the flag. You folks had defenders on the catwalks around Command's perimeter, on the ground, grenades, rockets, and rdx falling like candy from the 2nd floor. Very tight squad play from both sides, and a very fun, fast paced, traditional TG round.

Re: Full |TG| Server on Shingle
I had my squad over at Dunes. Whenever EU pushed on Columns from Warehouse, me and a couple SMs would take Warehouse, then get back to Dunes. Making EU have to spawn someplace else to get back to Columns. We did loose Dunes a couple times, but usually picked it back up pretty quickly. I believe it was Martha, RedHerring, Smachin, and Telorn were part of my squad. Nice job guys.

I am sure the 10 people who killed you had a good time though.

Heh, I'm sure it was more than 10 people. My squad pulled off some amazing revives.
I remember Mantak shooting me while I was sprinting, cloaked, and getting a headshot ... from like the top of Command down to Trenches. That was a fine shot if I ever saw one. Think I might make movie about that one actually

Really fun round defending Command. That was before the Assault lines change to shingle, which really makes this map suck now.

Re: Full |TG| Server on Shingle
Actually, Assualt Lines makes it more fun for PAC... we can now actually maneuver on the map instead of just clustering at Command.

If the EU team caps every other flag except Command in AL, we get another Cerbere Landing style stand off which can stretch into eternity. I am sure no one wants that

Re: Full |TG| Server on Shingle
Well, yes, but Command on OS has 4 possible approaches, and only two of them are readily rocketable. A defense there is much easier to break than on Cerebere.

Not considering any logical reasons - only going from past experience - Taking Command Center on Shingle has been much harder and bloodier than on Cerbere.
Even Zhohar (tm) Squads seem to often fail at it.

Re: Full |TG| Server on Shingle
It's a different beast though. Cerbere Command is either undefended or heavily defended. If I slip by with a recon kit, Command is a breeze on Cerbere because it's empty.
But if I had to assault full Cerbere Command (ie. a capout), it's very difficult to do. Even when the defenders go to cap southern flags like Roadblock/STC/Church.
Shingle Command is easier because it's less isolated and more approachable. NW firefights are a great distraction for pubbies. Also, the flag is rarely the only one EU holds, so it's easier to take in any case.
I think the most effective way to stop me at either Command is to place lots of APMs on the stairs and in the back of Command. I'm usually alone while my people cap so a well-placed APM has a good chance of killing me completely before my SMs rush to revive me.
